mfk32 Posted July 2, 2017 #27 Share Posted July 2, 2017 I have not seen nor heard they were scrapping the punch liners (they did break with George Lopez sometime ago). Can you pot a reference ? I would be shocked, it is extremely popular. Sent from my iPhone using Forums I don't remember the emcee's name, but he said it. When I say scrapped, I mean gut it and redesigned. It was the last night when he was reminding people to fill out the survey. He said that they really listen to what people say; for instance, they listened to all the complaints about what a poor design Punchliners was, so they were scrapping it and re-designing it. And/or the one where after the show you get funneled out a back door that puts you in an area where you can only get to the stairs or the dining room? WHile I was not inspecting all view areas, I cannot remember a seat where you could not see the talent (same on the Vista BTW, so not sure what you are alluding to). The doors opened to the side hallway, you could go front - back to the main atrium area or back to the stairway (again same as the Vista). Neither emptied you into a dining room. I believe you are referring to the Limelight which is used for the comedy shows?

At least that was the set up in 2015 when we were on the Sunshine. The room was large half circle and the seats to the side of the stage could not really see the comedian. There was a TV screen directly in front of those seats ( the side of the stage) that you could see the comedian on.
ladylyn915 Posted July 4, 2017 #33 Share Posted July 4, 2017 My last cruise was in January 2017 on the Vista. It was an absolutely amazing cruise. My next one will be a New Years cruise on the Sunshine to the Western Caribbean. I'm not hearing good things about the Sunshine. Is it really a "downgrade" from the Vista? I feel exactly the same way regarding our up-coming cruise on the Vista! We were on the Sunshine in the summer of 2015 and we loved it. We had no complaints about the food, our cabin, the bars (LOVED the Alchemy), the casino, and we loved the atrium with the glass elevators. The grandkids loved the Kid's club. For us the pool was fine - we are very early risers. - so we came home very satisfied cruisers. The Vista is new - but from all the photos I see, it looks boring - almost like an office building. There are no bright colors and certainly no wow factor (that I can see). It is also larger which means more people, and maybe more lines. We don't drink beer and won't be using the self-service dispensers. We won't use the Sky Ride or go to the IMAX or the Thrill Theater- although I understand this is very appealing to others. On a positive note, we have made dinner reservations for three of the eight nights and I expect the food in the MDR to be on par with the Sunshine which for us was delicious. The Piano Bar is one of my favorite spots along with the aforementioned Alchemy. We will again get up with the birds and get a lounger at the pool. And, Guy's burgers will call us for lunch. I am very much looking forward to our cruise - I have not been on a bad one ever! Vacation is what you make it. What could be better than NYE on a ship? Go with an open mind and I am sure you will have a blast. Message:

I could not remember for sure if it was the Conquest or Sunshine I was thinking of. Since it is the one I was thinking of, I can see why they want to rework the room. It was still fun, but not ideal.
