stateroom

You can look at the deck plans if you know your cabin number. If you booked a "guarantee" cabin, you may not know the cabin number until later...sometimes, you don't find out until you are boarding the ship. The deck plans are online, or in the cruise line's brochure.

We always book a specific cabin, so we know our cabin number immediately.

If you have the stateroom number you can look at the cruise line's deck plans and it will show you where it is located. You can also use Cruise Critic and ask in the search box for a review of the ship and cabin number such as Caribbean Princess Cabin 4029 reviews and if there are any it will bring up the reviews, sometimes with pictures.

I am not allowed to list website address but you can look at cruise deck plans dot com and pick your cruise line, ship and it will bring up cabins they have reviews and pictures for.

Hello,

Being a "first-timer" cruiser, how can I find out what/where stateroom we are located in ?

If you booked a specific cabin, it should be on your booking notice. If not, you should be able to create an account on the ship's company's website (if you booked through a third party agency), using your booking number. If they booked you a specific cabin, it should be listed.

If you booked a 'guarantee' (where you're willing to take a certain category or higher), as others mentioned you may not get your cabin until after you've made your final payment, or even up until a couple of days before you sail.

We booked a guarantee on our latest cruise, and as the ship is full, we got our cabin assignment the day of our last payment. We got a fairly nice upgrade.

Welcome to CC.

Sounds as if you have already booked a cruise. If so, puzzled as to why your travel agent, or if you booked directly with cruise line, didn't discuss your choice of cabin with you. There are hundreds to choose from with many categories. Did you perhaps book a "guarantee " which means you would be assigned a cabin by the cruise line. Even with a guarantee you should be aware of the type of cabin booked.

Check your booking confirmation and if a number is there you can look on the cruise line's deck plan. If you have a cabin number assigned the pros/cons should have been discussed with you.
