They have 3 courses on the kids menu to or the kids can mix and match from the kids menu and the adult menu. Normal kids meals, chicken, pasta, pizza etc. Plus the grilled chicken breastfeeding is every night... Can always count on that!! [emoji1] [emoji1]

Thanks Alan much appreciated. 27 days to go for us.

The bar staff seem to be having really bad computer issues & indeed the onboard computers are failing on the TV lifts, on the in room TV's & also the MSC for Me app.

We have returned to a paper system tonight in the MDR.

So it seems there are still a few issues to be ironed out.

Our room as someone mentioned is very, very windy when the ship is out at sea.

In fact we have an issue with the Lounge door as it's not sealing properly.

I actually think none of the S3 room balconies get much sun on the balcony.

We get precisely none but we are not bothered about that. We're enjoying the balcony & the hot tub!

Can you actually use the hot tub while on sea?

Yes we have used it while being at sea but it hasn't been as windy as tonight. It's only 4 on the Beaufort scale but the wind is going across the bow.

We've just gone & donated some money to the casino as you do.

One of the photographers told me the gala night will be Messina night.

Awesome review Kikki, wake up every morning and log on to follow your adventures :)

Two questions; How does the muster drill work if the Meraviglia has 3 home ports? Was the shuttle bus you took into town in Marseilles complimentary?

Hey Kikki,

I am so happy to be informed before we start our cruise on the Merviglia next Sunday (Genova).

One more question: Does this ship offer a "cruise pass" that gives you several options of entertainment (simulator, ropes, bowling) in a kind of flat rate? I heard this from other MSC cruises but we have never been on a MSC ship before ...

Morning from Naples! It's 9.50am & we are on final approach to the port. So again well ahead of schedule!

We've just been in the hot tub so sail in has been lovely seeing the views of Ischia, Vesuvius etc coming into our eyeline.

We keep thinking whether to go for it in terms of getting to Capri but we want to have a relaxing day so we are going into Naples instead - I've been here quite a few times & never done that!

Mmmm the buffet is really good - plentiful selection of salad items which are really tasty. Good sauces esp pesto.

Bread is very tasty & the pizzas are delicious. Really nice thin crusts.

But the real highlight are the desserts - the chef has some skills. These are definitely the best desserts I have had on ANY cruise ship.

Now if they could transfer those skills to the rest of the culinary experience esp in the MDR then MSC really would be upping their game.

We will see what the dinner is like tonight at the Cirque show 🤞

Menu seems extremely limited tonight!

@Leighglo - what problems are you having with the Aurea package?

Where do I start....... although booked and paid for the Aurea experience (it's on all our paperwork etc) the ship had no record of this and could not override until they heard from their HQ - which they suggested could take 24 hours. The first lady my husband spoke with at guest services was rude, unhelpful and my husband basically lost the first day on board phoning MSC, our travel agents etc. It was shocking.

We're still encountering problems - we go to the Spa, they have no record of us, sun deck 19 is the same ......... has certainly put a dampener on our first MSC experience.

All drinks are showing on our bill etc - we could write a book!!

However won't let it spoil our holiday - currently sitting in a lovely cafe in Napoli enjoying some bruschetta and the views!!!

Maybe catch you on the sun deck???

Leigh x

Hi Leighglo,

Same thing happened to us on our April Divina cruise. Luckily I had two cabins booked, second one was showing correct experience, so on my third trip to guest services, (paperwork in hand each time), I managed to convince them that my DH and I had Aurea too, as both cabins were booked at the same time...and they were listed on the deck plans as Aurea suites. Crazy.

I loved our MSC cruise, but that first evening was a mess. MSC needs to give their Guest Services department more autonomy/training, so they can fix these mistakes immediately.

Eek that sounds really bad Leigh!

We are also in Napoli & stopped for a drink on a side street off Via Toledo - we are doing our own walking tour! [emoji4]

I'm not sure if we will brace the MDR again, we are doing the 9.30pm Cirque show.

We do have the Aurea sun deck earmarked for later, followed by a spa visit.

We wanted a chill out day today so we are just enjoying Napoli doing our own walking tour.

It's amazing how the main st changes when you walk 1 or 2 blocks up!

Great job so far...

Casino question - Are the table games and slots all in Euros? Do the slots accept Euro notes as well as player cards?

Went into the casino last night - and you play using your cruise card on the slots. The machines take Euro notes as well. Don't play the table games but I presume it is all in Euros. [emoji4]

Back on board the ship after our walk around Naples - officially it's 30C but feels a lot hotter.

As other people have reported on other MSC ships, there are a LOT of kids around & they take up a lot of the pool areas both the outdoor & Bamboo pool.

We'll see how packed the Aurea sun deck gets in a bit.

I'm glad we walked around Naples - I've lost count of how many cruises I've been on here that I've just bypassed the area & gone elsewhere.

Will do!

If Sonar is anything to go by, you'll really enjoy show!

Sun deck is lovely and quiet - I'm sure it'll still be the same when you arrive.

Have a lovely evening x
