Hey Kikki,

I am so happy to be informed before we start our cruise on the Merviglia next Sunday (Genova).

One more question: Does this ship offer a "cruise pass" that gives you several options of entertainment (simulator, ropes, bowling) in a kind of flat rate? I heard this from other MSC cruises but we have never been on a MSC ship before ...

Yes, thay have that. See Bea's post with Daily Program pictures.

Will do!

If Sonar is anything to go by, you'll really enjoy show!

Sun deck is lovely and quiet - I'm sure it'll still be the same when you arrive.

Have a lovely evening x

My other half went there for an hour & said it was dead!

I stayed in the room to cool down!

Can't remember who asked but yes there are packages available for the F1 simulator & bowling etc. We thought they are quite expensive.

We are late departing Naples. It's 7.25pm & we are still here. The Pullmantour ship is leaving before us.

I suspect it could be to do with a late arrival from Capri as a hydrofoil steamed past us on the port side which isn't the usual place for it to dock. We were going to go to the spa but we'll settle for a hot tub session as we sail out of Naples! [emoji12]

Hi kikki ..........best read of the day by far(y):hot-beverage:

These are the Q's I have for you,

Are tables for 2 in the MDR easily available or are they wait listed.

Can I purchase the classic all in clusive on board or must I do that prior to the cruise.

And last q, can you pretend to be interested in the 7 bottle wine package and tell me what make of rose wine they sell with it.......cheers bill

Looks like MSC needs to start shapping up.

Keep it up:beer-toast:

We're still here in Naples at 8pm. They just made an announcement but couldn't hear it in the room!

Yes we have had no trouble getting a table for 2 in our MDR but we are Aurea.

You can buy the classic all inclusive before you board or on board the ship.

As Aurea we have it included in our package.

We eventually sailed away from Naples at around 8.40pm - no idea why we were so late!

Now in the Cirque dinner show.

Not too bad a position to be seated in but we shall see [emoji4]

Thanks for that info.

Heineken isn't my favourite but I do like a few of the options in the pub.

Although my husband has this idea that the Heineken in mainland Europe is nicer than here in Ireland. Mmmmm! Not sure about that.

I will have to give it a try at least once.

L

DH drinks Carlsberg at home but when we're onboard he only drinks Heineken draught, even though he could have any of the bottled beers as we always have the deluxe (premium) drinks package.

Very interesting reading your review, Kikki. Keep up the good work! :) The menus and food in the Yacht Club would seem to have been better than the MDR, judging by what you've posted. I ended up ordering seconds sometimes even though I don't have a big appetite and can't eat much in one sitting!

Yes, thay have that. See Bea's post with Daily Program pictures.

Thanks for the reference - I totally missed Beas (@Beamafar) thread and now it took two hours to read everything ;-)

But I did not find a picture of the daily program. So if you have a link, I will be very happy!

This thread is certainly epic lol! [emoji23]

Well we missed what we planned to do tonight which was getting in the spa & then watching sail away from our balcony. Due to the late departure we had a rush on to get to the Cirque show - we did manage to get in the hot tub for a bit.

Cirque show - enjoyable. Will post more tomorrow, will leave you with that teaser & the fact that I won 30 euros in the casino - mmmm what shall I spend that on?! [emoji23]

Awesome review Kikki, wake up every morning and log on to follow your adventures clear.png?emoji-smile-1742

Two questions; How does the muster drill work if the Meraviglia has 3 home ports? Was the shuttle bus you took into town in Marseilles complimentary?

Morning

Actually Bradtez people are getting on & off at every port!

They simply have their own muster drill. You will have your card scanned at the drill so they will catch up with you at some point if you don't attend.

The shuttle bus in Marseille is NOT complimentary - it was 16 euros for a return trip for 1 person.

It is quite a walk from where Meraviglia docks to the port 4 gate so I would either book the shuttle or get a taxi.

I never saw the free cruise shuttle bus that apparently exists - kept looking out for it.

Bea your food definitely looked better than our offerings in the MDR for sure.

Your menus were also very different to ours.

Back to the review!

I woke up about 5 minutes late to see Stromboli - darn it will have to book another cruise. As we are on port side I would have needed that extra 5 minutes to view as we have a view from the middle to port side. Back to sleep to a vibrating ship manoeuvring in Messina harbour!

Clearly we made up for the loss of 2 hours late departure last night as once again we have arrived ahead of time at 7.30am.

Still don't know why we left late last night, we asked a staff member but they didn't know either!

Leighglo - do you know why?!

I have photos but can't post them as CC tells me there is a problem - will show you all later!

So the Cirque show - I booked it for my fiancé as he is a theatre producer & intrigued about any theatre production.

We had been to see one of the production shows previously & he was quite critical about it!

We both enjoyed Viaggio - it is very well produced & a nice story. You can take photos but not with flash.

Obviously I took some! It's a big space for something used at night so I would expect the Lounge to be used for other stuff during the day - it is used as an excursion meeting point.

Thanks for your review I'm not looking forward to the food now though Beas looked amazing

It's not all bad!

The buffet is actually really good. Been impressed with the food available for breakfast & lunch.

It's the MDR which I would rate as the worst MDR I have eaten in for sheer quality of food. It's like they lack complete imagination for the starters & main courses.

The desserts are the exception - they have all been fantastic!

Hi, the announcement said a guest had taken unwell and had to be disembarked from the ship - they thanked everyone for their patience.

Thank you Leigh - we were in our room & couldn't hear the announcement. Never sailed from a port that late so figured it was either a late tour or that it was a medical emergency. Hope that person is ok.

Not a great way to be while you're on holiday.

Here's our Butcher's Cut pics - we had previously booked the 3 restaurant dining experience so had the 39 Euro menu to choose from last night. It was lovely! Excellent service and food. I added the lobster at an extra cost! Will post a pic of the menu we had!
