We are going Venice to Barcelona and then continuing on the repo to Ft. Lauderdale. Its booked as 1 cruise. Will we have to "exit" and reembark in Barcelona?

Don't know what line your on but we have booked back to back cruise on Holland, NCL You should have 2 choices, either atay on board all day and relax OR go ashore on your own, book a tour either private or a ship tour. I am sure if you check the cruise your on you will find tours that the ship is giving in Barcelona. We have been there 3 times, did the Hop on Hop Off city bus and also just wondered on our own. Have fun.

Usually you will receive instructions the night or two prior to arrival in your B2B port. You should be issued "In Transit" cards which, if you go ashore, you show to security so you may by-pass the check-in process for the new passengers. You may have to to go ashore to "zero" the ship before they allow new passengers aboard, in which case you would be escorted as a B2B group, usually form the show lounge, and may have to show your passport to immigration... or the ship may be able to do all this onboard, or behind the scenes. It varies. But if you want to go ashore that day you should be able to do that either on your own or on a tour. I hope this helps you get a feel for the process. m--

You only have to leave the ship to 'zero down' when turnaround day is in a US port. In Europe, it is just another port call. You can leave when (if) you want, return when you want. They may give you an 'in transit' pass to get you in the terminal. You will have to go through security on returning. EM
