silkismom Posted November 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2005 Our cruise is stopping at St Kitts, St Barths, Antigua, La Romana & Virgin Gorda, other than the last--is there any decent snorkeling or should we just leave our gear home? We're scuba divers but not even considering that. Thanks
zqvol Posted November 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2005 By all means take the gear. St. Barths has a number of beaches that are wonderful, including Shell beach right outside of town. Sounds like you know about Virgin Gorda so no need to comment. We didn't snorkle at St. Kitts but understand that there are a number of sights about a mile from the cruise dock. Antigua boasts of having 365 beaches, and reports are that there is some excellent snorkling. Don't forget too, that you might decide to dive and it si so much nicer to have your own mask and fins, and snorkle fins work well in the Carribbean, seems that that is what all the dive operators use for rental/loaner gear. Have fun.
