Badgeaz Posted July 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Hello everyone I'm booked on the escape in janurary. 1st time with ncl. We have booked a inside cabin on the 11th deck towards the back of the ship. 11675 is the number. I'm just wanting some feedback about the cabins. Thanks so much for any tips and suggestions. luvtheships Posted July 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2017 All the insides are small. It's a high deck so you will feel movement Be it the getaway the BA or the escape as they are the same ship. They are huge they clatter and clang and they make noise. Lol I've been far aft on deck 11 and we survived but it was not calm by any means due to the structure of these ships If you want a calmer ride then book deck 5 midship insides (which are not cheap ) or cruise the jewel class ...gem jewel pearl jade Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Badgeaz Posted July 21, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Yeah all the mid ship inside cabins are booked. Hey at least I'm close to the elevator. Lol Badgeaz

wardwhitty Posted July 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2017 We were in an inside cabin and they are small. The bathrooms are a very good size, flat screen tv's and comfy beds. We were on deck 14 near the front. I know its not the back of the ship but we did not experience any swaying or loud noises. We actually really liked the inside cabins and how private they are with the separate hallways.
SNJCruisers Posted July 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Be it the getaway the BA or the escape as they are the same ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Sorry, but the Escape is larger than the Getaway and Breakaway. It's the first of the Breakaway-Plus class, with the Joy and the Bliss being the second and third. It has an added deck, making it taller. Sent from my XT1254 using Forums mobile app

Had a very minor vibration and almost no roll. After the first two days at sea I didn't even notice the difference when we were docked compared to sailing Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app
elainemasey61 Posted July 23, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 23, 2017 Hijacking your thread..... Are many of you saying you feel more movement on these huge ships? I would have thought the opposite. We have never sailed any of the newer giant ships- most recently the Dawn to Bermuda. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Badgeaz Have been in many balcony, ocean view and inside cabins on many different cruise lines. We enjoy the quiet of the inside cabins. Also, the air conditioning cools much better because of the lack of windows (radiant heat) and balcony doors letting in the hot and humid air. We also find it much easier to sleep without the howling wind from the balcony, the neighbors slamming the balcony doors at all hours of the night, and the constant conversations on the balcony, not to mention the smoking that is not allowed but still takes place on the balconies, or the sunlight shining into the cabin in the morning. We really don't miss the balcony or the ocean view cabins, and have turned down free upgrades to a balcony or ocean view. The further from the elevator the better...too much noise! You will have a great time on the Escape!

The less time we spend in there the more time to enjoy the ship. Not to mention the savings we use for other vacations. And like you said in all you're points above - we sleep like babies:halo:
pspercy Posted August 1, 2017 #15 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Is it true balconies on Escape are larger than the 'away ships?
Two Wheels Only Posted August 1, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Is it true balconies on Escape are larger than the 'away ships? On the sides? Yes. Aft-facing generally favors BA/GA.
ray98 Posted August 2, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Don't worry so much about location as it relates to motion no matter how many times it is repeated on here. Sure, being on higher decks or forward may slightly increase motion but it will not be perceivable. I have cruised for years with my wife who is very motion sensitive. When things get bad changing location does nothing. It isn't like you can be on deck 10 thinking 'this is rough' and then go to deck 3 and think 'this is much better'. It is a large ship with stabilizers, it doesn't ride the waves like a pontoon boat.

cb at sea Posted August 2, 2017 #20 Share Posted August 2, 2017 No matter HOW BIG the ship, it's still tiny compared to the ocean and it's power. You can (and do) feel motion on ANY ship!

SNJCruisers Posted August 2, 2017 #23 Share Posted August 2, 2017 has any one been in 12700? what does it look like? It's not an inside... it's an O2 Family Oceanview at the front of the ship with a large window. Better than being stuck down on deck five with the majority of the OV cabins.
