tbmrt Posted July 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Interested in booking a B-2, but am confused. Do all B-2's have the Fantastica experience whether booked through a travel agent or MSC directly? I spoke with MSC and they told me B-2 would be with 24 drink vouchers per cabin. However, a TA and Chase CC cruise travel agency did not state this. Would appreciate input. Thanks

Thanks All B2 have the Fantastica experience but the vouchers will be region dependent or TA dependent. they are used for promotions in various regions in differing amounts and at different times Pete
cruiseguyinorl Posted July 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Do all B-2's have the Fantastica experience whether booked through a travel agent or MSC directly? Yes. B2 = Fantastica. All Fantastica (Divina Caribbean at least) get the drink vouchers no matter where booked. Bret

Rare Beamafar Posted July 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2017 B1,B2 and B3 are the old categorisations for balcony cabins. They are now: B1 = Bella Balcony B2 = Fantastica Balcony B3 = Aurea Balcony It depends on where you're booking from and what ship or itinerary you're sailing, whether the vouchers are included or not. I booked a balcony and for an additional $70 pp i added the fantastica package and my reservation says I have a B2 category. Could it be that had i not added the fantastica package that my reservation would say B1 category even though i would be in the same exact cabin? Perhaps you upgraded from what was a Bella level?

But when I was looking at booking on their website when i picked the cabin I wanted it "offered" me this additional option for an added $70pp
sidari Posted October 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 23, 2017 The website is set up where on some cruises you choose a balcony cabin and then the experience, Bella attracts no extra, Fantastica up attracts an extra fee, On some cases there is no extra for Fantastical. That explains it so, Dave. We don't have the option to book online so I couldn't figure what that was about! Using the term "package" didn't make sense. It wouldn't be the exact same cabin, it would a cabin in a different area of the ship, they group cabins according to the "experience" level. When booking through the web site you choose the cabin / experience combination of your choice then on the next screen you get an allocated cabin with the option to choose a different cabin if you aren't happy with the allocated cabin. You can view all the available cabins, on a deck plan, to make your choice At least that's how it operates in the UK Pete
sidari Posted October 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 24, 2017 Bea ... On the Seaside T.A the Fantastica Balconies do not have an extra fee, choose Aurea Balcony and that adds around £320 pp to the cabin fare. The Suites are sold out but they also had a higher fee. For me this was just another underhand way of MSC increasing prices without saying they had increased prices.

For me this was just another underhand way of MSC increasing prices without saying they had increased prices. Another way of looking at it is that they're offering Fantastica for the price of Bella. The price jump between Fantastica balcony and Aurea is €750 for us! I notice that MSC are offering a 5 night on Seaside from Trieste to Barcelona. They're also offering the opportunity to board at Barcelona for the crossing. I hadn't been following Seaside closely - the fact that it was sailing from Trieste closed me off to it altogether. I'm wondering now would I have considered it had I seen that we could embark in Barcelona. We're paying the same price for our Fantastica balcony, 14 night Christmas cruise on Orchestra as the Seaside TA 15 nights is priced at. We would have got 30% (I had a casino voucher) + 5% discount off that which would have cost us €545 less than what we're paying for Orchestra. We could have booked an Aurea with that saving! sidari Posted October 24, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 24, 2017 Bea ... I looked at the T.A a few days back, there were no cabins left from Barcelona but quite a few from Trieste, the cruise only price Trieste to Barcelona looked really good but getting flights out and back would negate any cost saving. I just checked to see when I'd booked the Orchestra - it was back in March. I don't know if Barcelona as an embarkation port was available then? It's moot at this stage. I'd dismissed doing the TA due to our bad experiences of the Divina TA to Miami. Apologies to the OP for going off-topic (though I see they never returned to the thread).
