Clarea Posted July 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2017 SAS Transportation is often mentioned. For more ideas, see the Florida Departures forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=

Rare Hlitner Posted July 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2017 Uber X will cost you less then $40 (for the entire vehicle). It is our personal preference because we do not need to plan ahead, make any reservations, or have to share with others. In Ft Lauderdale we never wait more then 10 min to get our Uber ride. cb at sea Posted July 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2017 Uber is a good option, but SAS is less costly than cabs, which are prohibitedly expense!
moonlitmagik Posted July 27, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2017 Or do as I did and take the tri rail to miami airport. If youre staying in miami but flying into fll to save money, we took the tri rail to MIA (3.00 per person one way) rented a car off hotwire for like 16$. That got us free cruise port transportation (car rental shuttle) to and from. Then we took tri rail up to Fll on the way back. Simple! Rare Hlitner Posted July 27, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2017 Uber is a good option, but SAS is less costly than cabs, which are prohibitedly expense! I agree. But not a huge fan of SAS or other transfer services. 2 persons can take Uber from the Embassy Suties (Ft Lauderdale) to the Port of Miami for about $35. The car picks you up at the front door of your hotel and drops you right at your ship's pier. and the cost works out to about $17 per person. If you have 4, the cost per person is even less. Now consider SAS or other transfer services. You have to book in advance and be ready on their schedule (not yours). Once you get in your van you may stop at 1 or 2 more hotels as they fill up their vehicle. Once you reach the port, you might have to make 1,2 or 3 stops at other piers as they off load others. And the price for all this is often not any better then Uber (or Lyft). Before there was Uber...we used these transfer services. Now....no way!
