bappo Posted June 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Many people have commented on the size of the showers in their staterooms. Leaving on the Sapphire on Sunday and was wondering just how small they really are? Do they have a shower curtain or shower door? Thanks.
verwirrt Posted June 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2004 bappo, The showers have a curtain, and yes they are small. Picture a shower you would see in a large RV. That said, my DH is 6'7" and he didn't have any trouble. But... as I've heard another poster mention, don't drop the soap! Sharon
bappo Posted June 14, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Thanks Sharon, I guess they are the same size as those on the Celebrity ships, thats big enough for my husband and I. Thankds again. Barb
metla Posted June 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2004 The showers on the Diamond were like this: Picture yourself taking a shower in a coke bottle. And yes, if you drop the soap, you would do better reaching out of the shower curtain and getting another bar rather than trying to pick it up. srphnx Posted June 14, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2004 The showers are about 30 inches in diameter, with a bit nipped off and an ice cold bar in the middle of your back at every angle. chamima Posted June 14, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Does anyone know if the showers on the Tahitian Princess are as small as the rest of the Princess ships since it was originally from another line?
Druke I Posted June 14, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 14, 2004 We were on the Pacific Princess (Tahitian's sister) last November, and I thought shower about average Princess size. Nicest showers in the fleet are those in mini-suites, Sun and Dawn Princess, about twice the size of the average shower stall. As Metla above would put it "couple friendly". Pam in CA Posted June 14, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 14, 2004 The larger showers are generally in the suites and mini-suites, but on the older ships, such as the Royal and the Regal, the showers are tub-sized or close to it in all cabins. Mezzaluna Posted June 14, 2004 #14 Share Posted June 14, 2004 We were in Italy two years ago and booked in three-star hotels. In the four cities we stayed in, three of the hotels had showers that sound like they were this size. You manage! I will be grateful for proper water pressure and temperature, and for careful cleaning by the cabin staff. Now if the bed's too small... jerseygirl3 Posted June 14, 2004 #15 Share Posted June 14, 2004 The small showers are the reason we book mini-suites on Princess. As much as I hate that the balconies are totally exposed on Dolphin Deck mini-suites and the balconies (half covered, half exposed) are much larger on Caribe Deck, those mini-suite bathrooms are sooooooooo much nicer than the standard balcony cabins. A full size tub can't be beat, especially when you are shaving your legs in the shower! BTW, I feel this way and I'm only 4'10"!!! caribbeanqueen3@comcast.net

jnc411 Posted June 14, 2004 #17 Share Posted June 14, 2004 I love this board , it always cheers me up. The size of showers on cruise ship and the lovely clingy shower curtains are a real hoot. My DH is also 6'7" and we laugh alot about trying to shower in thoes things. Might as well laugh, life is too short for a bad mood. Take care. wander Posted June 14, 2004 #19 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Mezzaluna, Oh I remember those showers well. They are the same in Germany and Switzerland in certain types of pensions/B&Bs, etc. Of those folks say the best way to soap up for a shower is to soap the walls, enter the shower and spin around several times. (Just kidding of course.) Could not do this on the Sapphire as about 40% of the shower was covered by curtains, not doors/walls.
MNYTRPS2GO2 Posted June 15, 2004 #20 Share Posted June 15, 2004 On the Golden my very round husband basically wore the shower!! (This weekend we sail on the Sapphire and have a mini suite because of this.)
bobbin0308 Posted June 15, 2004 #21 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Guess the showers are the same teensy size on the Caribbean Princess as well? Since it's a new ship and the showers are small on Diamond & Sapphire, I'm guessing the same is the case on Caribbean.
Lynda90 Posted June 15, 2004 #22 Share Posted June 15, 2004 I guess if there's a costume party someone could go as a shower.
srphnx Posted June 15, 2004 #23 Share Posted June 15, 2004 I'd have to lose a lot of weight to go as that shower.
