tickets for Mt. Roberts Tramway - Juneau

We are considering tickets for Mt. Roberts Tramway on our upcoming Alaska cruise, but want to make sure weather will cooperate before making that purchase.

What is the process for purchasing that on board? - how far in advance? Do you just go to the ShoreX desk, purchase and get your tickets right then? or wait for them to be delivered to your room?

I've heard these are actually refundable if unused (an allowance for Mt Roberts Tram tickets only.....) Is it just better to buy, then return if weather is uncooperative?

Edit: (sorry...didn't think about putting this in the original post...) I'm actually WANTING to purchase these tickets from PCL as we have LOTS of OBC that we must either use or lose.....

:) :) :)

If you purchase excursions in advance all excursion tickets will be in your room. If you purchase an excursion on board they print excursion tickets out for you onboard.

Because the weather can really impact visibility on Mt. Roberts we just purchase the tickets at the tram. This has worked well for us.

Yes I know you can get them at the Tram....

I should have put in my post (sorry....didn't really think about it...but will edit it...) that we have TONS of OBC that we need to use....or lose...so I actually WANT to purchase it from Princess.... It's the same price and keeps that money from 'going away'. :D:D

There are several solutions for converting OBC to cash in your pocket. One is to use the casino.....buy in. Play very little, cash out.

At the bottom of Princess shore excursion description special notes section it says full refund given for unused tickets returned to them by end the day.

My guess is that if a person used OBC to purchase the ticket, they would get refunded to OBC, not receive cash. The casino or other excursions would be a much better way to use a "ton" of OBC. Some flightseeing excursions are very expensive. Should be easy to use a "ton" of OBC just for those!
