  1. From personal experience avoid connecting cabins if possible. If your neighbors are loud it’s a real problem. Our neighbor said he was hard of hearing and needed the TV loud.
  2. Thanks to everyone. Sounds like a PCL mistake.
  3. Did not use at TA. Called PCL directly this AM.
  4. Just booked a 2025 22-day cruise and Princess used 2 FCDs from DW and 2 FCDs from me (total $400) to secure the deposit. Clearly shows $400 on Booking Confirmation and shows 2 FCD taken on the Capitan Circle page for each passenger. Thought it was $100 per person (or 1 FCD) per person? Has the FCD amount needed to book changed?
  5. Best to book with Princess. Be sure to request “do not upgrade” for both voyages, otherwise PCL might upgrade one voyage and not the other. in regard to dining, on first voyage just chat with MDR staff and share you will be along for the next voyage. It is fun to just walk into the MDR on the first night of the second voyage and have a seat in the middle of the other chaos.
  6. Emerald deck suites do hear the thump, thump from the vista lounge. Not too bad, but noticeable
  7. TheCrown was the last ship not to finally have the wall mounted big, flat screenTVs. Has this finally been remedied? Thanks
  8. This is, more than anything, just a marketing tag for persons PCL has identified as casino patrons. Like elite benefits consider having low expectations. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/onboard-experience/activities/casino/princess-players-club-vip/
  9. With apologies…. an ultimate vip cruise in an inside cabin seems like an oxymoron
  10. This Cruise Critic community spends thousands of posts annually on this topic. We are asked what should I do and the best advice and safest advice is always the same: get a passport. What puzzles me are the people who can’t be bother to get a passport yet expect a last minute magic solution on cruise critic. Sometimes there are simply consequences for poor decisions and poor forethought
  11. Thank you. As I thought, SOME closed loop cruises do not require a US Passport BUT some closed loop cruises do. Extraordinary care is required to avoid a disaster at embarkation. As always, a U.S. Passport always works.
  12. Does not a closed loop cruise from Florida that includes Columbia require a US Passport? Maybe something changed??
  13. For extra long voyages (30+ days) we take large suitcases. Simply "butterfly" the large suitcase, place any smaller suitcases into the left/right side of the butterflied case, and push under the bed.
  14. Maybe the difference is subtle....it is not being "bent out of shape for wearing shorts", but making the commitment not to wear shorts and doing it anyway.
  15. If the Enchanted has LG TV's like other PCL ships, both work. The universal LG remote from Amazon, that does not require programming, is about $10. Worked for me on the Royal a few weeks ago. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GLZLLTJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  16. IMHO Best practice..... cabins above and below no connecting cabin door (that was a hard lesson learned) more vs less distance from elevator lobbies and laundromats
  17. I so agree. Respect cultural differences. When I visit a foreign country or even a friend's house, I truly strive to respect their local customs. I consider the MDR the home of the Maitre d' Hotel. I'm the visitor.
  18. So it is your opinion or assertion, that someone who make a reservation in a venue where shorts are expressly not allowed, and then wears shorts to that venue is simply expressing their individualism. IMHO is is not simply an expression of individualism, it is more like an expression of elitism.
  19. I do not have a problem with your attire in the MDR. Again, your choice. Speaking for myself, and only myself....... When I ask for a reservation at a restaurant, and the restaurant shares their dress code I can proceed or decline. My choice. If I proceed, my personal standard of conduct would be to respect the restaurant's request. If I were to accept the reservation offer and violate the condition, it would violate my personal standards.
  20. If you have Princess Plus or Premium go to Vines and ask for small pours of all the wines of interest. It is essentially a free personal tasting. Pick your favourite. remember some wines may exceed what the package will cover, but also know you only pay the difference
  21. May I assume the cap was worn backwards since it was not formal night?
  22. Do shorts qualify as "Smart Casual" which is the Princess MDR standard? No Can you get away wearing shorts in the MDR? Likely yes. Will you be the odd man out? Yes Will this be a very popular thread today? Yes
  23. Note "Crown Princess" in upper left corner.. Where is the Coral headed? Does this imply that PCL plans to use a Grand Class ship for the 2026 FL or LA World Cruise?
