Quick question about wifi

Hey guys

I'm going on a cruise to Cozumel tomorrow. The resort I'm going to has free wifi. I have Verizon. Will I get charged to use it because it's not in America? Or will it be free because it's Wi-Fi and not data?

If you just use Wifi from the resort, you will not be charged for cellular data use for browsing and functions that can be done using Wifi.

However, your phone may default to cellular data for some things and depending on the calling & messaging plan, you might get charged for calls & texts while in Mexico.

As stated, since we could not know what Verizon plan you have, you need to call your provider or get online and view your plan with regards to phone calls & texting.

Yep, but many plans now include free calling and messaging to/from Canada & Mexico
Some companies, like Verizon Wireless, don't include free calling and messaging to/from Canada & Mexico but rather charge a daily rate ($5) to take your wireless plan with you to Canada & Mexico.
