Late July 2018 Vancouver Hotels sold Out?

I tried booking a Vancouver hotel for July 25-27th 2018 and it seems they are almost all full! Is this for real? Or, is it too early to book and that is why most hotels are saying no availability? We went to Vancouver last July, only 2 days different than the days we are traveling next year, and only booked 3 months earlier and had no problem finding hotels. I am in shock. Can anyone fill me in.

I think it's too early to book. Start trying around the end of August. Also instead of booking sites, go to the hotel brands' websites. They will indicate how far in advance you can book.

Agree with other posters: keep checking or call the hotel direct. I wanted to make a reservation at the Marriott Pinnacle for May 8th, 9th, and 25th 2018 and was not able to do so until July 25, 2017.

I am sure it is the timing as mentioned.

You can call the hotels directly or just give it a few more weeks.

We had the same experience two years ago before our 2016 sailing and then things opened up.

Once you do book it keep checking the prices. Sometimes they go up so you are protected but if they go down you can followup to obtain the lower price.

Looking at Booking.com for 2 nights beginning in July 25th in USD...

  • $141 Barclay » elevator may be a problem. Check online reviews for potential issues.
  • $397 Days Inn » 3 blocks from cruise terminal. Check online reviews for potential issues.
  • $425 Century Plaza
  • $507 Auberge
  • $617 Pinnacle Harbourfront
  • $675 Delta
  • $705 Marriott Pinnacle
  • $743 Sutton Place
  • $789 Westin Grand
  • $805 Wall Center
  • $860 Rosewood
  • $868 Westin Bayshore
  • $947 Fairmont Vancouver
  • $979 Hyatt Regency
  • $979 Fairmont Waterfront » you sleep across from the cruise terminal
  • $1184 Fairmont Pacific Rim

Thoughts....

  • Love the Barclay price for 2 nights
  • Wednesday will be very busy downtown for the fireworks competition. Rooms will be high demand
  • you can book a room now with cancellation option if you see a lower price in the coming months/weeks
