Wondered if anyone has done the RC train transport from Livorno to Florence. According to the tour they then walk you to Cathedral square. Is this where the Duomo is? and how far from this square to Accademia Gallery. I want to book timed tickets for the Gallery and need to estimate times so anyone who has done this we would love to have some more information. Thanks

We went on the rci train excursion last week. We caught the 9 am train and arrived at 10:10. We then walked with guide through to the Duomo and were given a map with a suggested walking route. We never went to the Gallery but it was only 10 minutes walk away. We were then left to our own devices but advised to meet back at the train station at 3:45. It was very busy all over Florence and the queues were very long. We managed to do a 'whistle stop' walkabout as it were ! 45 degrees that day !!!!
