SRUMom66 Posted August 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2017 I was just reading on the list of prohibited items that they are not allowing flat irons on board. We brought one in the past but may not have seen that on this list. Can anyone tell me their experience with this? Is it a new rule?
Jojo27 Posted August 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2017 I always travel with a hair straightener “aka hair flat iron”and have never had an issue. My guess is they are referring to a flat iron as in clothes iron.

SRUMom66 Posted August 15, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted August 15, 2017 I was so confused by that. I thought a flat iron was for hair. Now I understand. We are going to buy a flat iron, hopefully, for hair in Europe to use for the first part of the trip. My daughter's blew up last time on the first day. We are just going to try one we purchase in Europe and see if that works. Even with an adapter we did not have luck in not having it burn out.
