Seashoregal Posted August 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2017 I am renting a scooter for first time and leaving in less then 2 weeks. A lot of our ports have hop on and off buses. Can I take my scooter on the buses? Ty! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
RuthC Posted August 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2017 I haven't done all the Ho-Ho busses, and don't know which ports you are going to, but I will say that the Ho-Ho busses I have taken were scooter accessible. The rear door has a ramp (a little steep, but all right), and there is a parking place inside. I don't know if there are different companies, but the busses I took were red, and all seemed to be the same, or cooperative, companies. I have taken the Ho-Ho in Geiranger, Copenhagen, Tallinn, and I think somewhere else, but can't remember where.
Seashoregal Posted August 20, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted August 20, 2017 We will be in Vigo, Spain; Madeira, Portugal; Canary Islands. Have private tours planned for our other stops. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2017 I just googled 'Madeira ho-ho bus' and it looks there may be several companies. The first one I looked at says it is fully accessible. didn't check any others. http://www.gobe.com/destinations/europe/portugal/funchal-tours/hop-on-hop-off-blue-route-tour/p/TR-EUR-PRT-FUNC-EN-1002?gclid=CjwKCAjw5uTMBRAYEiwA5HxQNu6ZcQHBoCwyq8mN3pGi9EDhl1Ed90SBBzD2DTgQe5YtCHQlkYYwExoCBeMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

GillCC Posted August 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Check them carefully - Lisbon HOho does not allow mobility equipment!

LondonTowner Posted September 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 6, 2017 The bus stops not too far from the port area. If I remember correctly there were two routes in Madeira, but I think the ticket was valid for both. Funchal is very hilly, so bus good idea. Seashoregal Posted September 10, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted September 10, 2017 Took red bus today. Scooter stopped working when hit loose cobblestone. Luckily someone showed me the reset button on the battery and I was able to restart. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
