cdrmer Posted August 28, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 28, 2017 That's what we were told. How difficult/cost is it to get from Penn station to the Red Hook terminal?
Baron Barracuda Posted August 28, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 28, 2017 From Penn station mass transit requires subway + bus + long walk. Better off with taxi or uber. Distance is under 7 miles.

sunsetbeachgal Posted August 29, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 29, 2017 That's what we were told. How difficult/cost is it to get from Penn station to the Red Hook terminal? We prebooked Carmel limo last year from our midtown hotel to Red Hook and with gratuity I seem to remember It was around $55. klenklen Posted August 29, 2017 #15 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Last year for the same cruise we took a Uber from Essex County, NJ (about 20 minutes from Newark airport/25 minutes from Holland Tunnel) to Red Hook and it was about $70 and that included the Holland Tunnel toll and Brooklyn Battery Tunnel toll and tip so Penn Station should be a bargain and easy. Pmorton3360 Posted August 29, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 29, 2017 We are taking a taxi from Penn station to Red Hook. Coming back we have reserved Carmel car service. Prepaid with tolls and tip, $63. Sent from my LG-LS777 using Forums mobile app
Jeremiah On a Cruise Posted August 29, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 29, 2017 We prebooked Carmel limo last year from our midtown hotel to Red Hook and with gratuity I seem to remember It was around $55. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Carmel came highly recommended for our upcoming cruise, but we are seeing different prices than that. We are paying around that for a similar trip in a full size sedan; the limo, which I was hoping for, was nearly 3X that.
myfuzzy Posted August 29, 2017 #18 Share Posted August 29, 2017 You can ask this question or any other on the roll call for this cruise, so everyone can help you, as many have sailed this cruise before
kkorman Posted August 30, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Thanks for responses. We Decided on a different cruise. It was just more cost friendly. [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
hm9912 Posted August 31, 2017 #20 Share Posted August 31, 2017 You can ask this question or any other on the roll call for this cruise, so everyone can help you, as many have sailed this cruise before On the Regal Princess leaving New York to Fort Lauderdale on 10/26/17 can anyone who has taken this Halloween cruise before confirm whether there is any rough water on the way to the Caribbean? We have our three Grandchilden ages 5, 4 and 2 1/2 on their first cruise. The five year old happened to mention to his Pre-School teacher that he was going on a cruise soon. She told him on her last cruise that she got sea sick. What a horrible thing to say to a five year old who has never been on a cruise ship. Now he is worried and asking if he is going to get sea sick? Howard

myfuzzy Posted September 1, 2017 #23 Share Posted September 1, 2017 So, now that the OP has chosen another cruise, this thread is moot. To the question about "rough water", its the ocean, depending on weather systems it could be smooth or very rough. It could also be very cold. The key is be prepared for anything.
