cpl100 Posted August 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2017 I have some bills but need coins to buy a bus ticket in our first stop. Wondering if the Getaway carries Euros and if they can break bills into change. Thanks.
soccermommy Posted August 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2017 I can't answer for the Getaway, but on our recent Jade cruise there was an exchange desk, and if I remember correctly, the Spirit did too on our 2016 cruise. We brought euros and pounds from home and never used the exchange desk. But, I'm willing to bet the Getaway will have one too. Have a great cruise! Rare BirdTravels Posted August 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2017 The ship has a currency exchange (at a very bad rate) but I don't think that they keep Euro coins since the currency on the ship is US dollars.
Travel R Posted August 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Yes they do have the Euro coins [1 and 2 euros are coins and not banknotes] on the Getaway. However, I cannot vogue for the amount that they can/will exchange. But as noted, the exchange rate is horrible (although we did it anyway for the convenience). Blondie008 Posted August 30, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2017 On top of the poor exchange rate there is a $10 fee no matter how much or little you change out.
cpl100 Posted August 31, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted August 31, 2017 I just want to turn in twenty Euros for 1 Euro and 2 Euro coins. I can't imagine they charge a fee for that as it's not changing currency. Am I wrong?

Tiggertastic Posted August 31, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2017 You could always get it broken down to 5€ notes if no coins. The bus will have change for that. Sent from my iPad using Forums
SquishTheWhale Posted August 31, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Some buses only take the exact fare, I'm wondering if that's why the OP wants coins? I'm not sure which port you're at first, but there's usually some kind of shop in the port area and you might be better breaking a note in there and buying a bottle of water or something. Yes, first port is Warnemunde where I am told the bus ticket machines only take coins.
