CuriousCruiser37 Posted August 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2017 The upsell fairy sold me on going from interior to a balcony. I was super excited but before I confirmed I asked if it was mid-ship bc I really liked my interior room's location. She said it was. Well, I'm not mad but I did learn my lesson to not take the fairy by her word. I looked at the deck map and it's located towards the very back of the ship. No matter what i will enjoy my room and the cruise!!!! But I do regret going for the offer and upgrading. Has anyone else ever regretted their decision to upgrade when the upsell fairy called? winddawn Posted August 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2017 On many of Carnival's ships, I actually prefer being aft or aft to mid-ship. I never book forward cabins though. You might find you like the location. Which ship are you sailing on? Which deck/cabin did you upsell to?

Rudyard Posted August 31, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Only got the call once. They let me pull up the deck plans while we were on the phone so I could check the location of the cabins they had available in the category they were offering,
PAPERBKWRITER Posted August 31, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We like the back. Elevator lets you of right at lido restaurant and you don't have drunks talking loud at 2 in the morning walking outside your cabin.
Siora7777 Posted August 31, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 31, 2017 I think you did good. I prefer aft instead of middle and a balcony is the way to go. Honestly any location on the ship is good. I've been very back, very front, right in the middle. Middle is my last choice and so is interior.
joeyancho Posted August 31, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 31, 2017 IMHO, a balcony is more desirable than an inside, regardless of its location.

CruiseHealing Posted August 31, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We prefer aft as well. I always check the deck plan to make sure there are cabins directly above and below my cabin. Also I check to be sure it is not too close to public space on my deck. Don't like hearing the noise.
grima625 Posted August 31, 2017 #15 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We have been called twice by the upsell fairy, and took it once. We went from an aft-view extended balcony to an ocean suite for about $120 total. It was a great deal. We enjoy having a balcony, and haven't had an inside cabin in quite a while. We like being in the aft of the boat because it's closer to the Lido deck, and the restaurants. Anywhere on a ship is good for us though.
Port of Tampa Posted August 31, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Mid ship is nice but I prefer the back of the ship it has a lot less foot traffic. What is more important to me is what is above and below my cabin. Cheers and have a great balcony cruise!
idraconis Posted August 31, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Just curious. What was the cost of your interior cabin and how much was the upsell for the balcony? Thanks enjoy your cruise.
dacsmom Posted August 31, 2017 #18 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Depending on what you paid for the upsell, that is a great deal, I like the aft cabins. But if you really do want to move, call back and try to get your original cabin back. You may not have any luck, but it can't hurt to try.
