Laurab23 Posted August 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Have prices gone up? In June martinis were $13. Someone posted the martini menu and it showed them as $15? Laura
grimace95120 Posted August 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2017 could it have been a European sailing where the gratuity etc is fully included in the pricing ?
jelayne Posted August 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2017 That is the price with the gratuty. Some countries require the total price be on the menu.

Kwaj girl Posted August 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Speaking of Martini Bar - we'll be on the Reflection TA in October and our last experience at the MB was nothing but LOUD MUSIC if you can call it that. Could not even talk to the person next to you. Asked bartender to turn it down & he said he COULDN'T/ Seriously, folks? Will get mgmt involved if it happens this time around. Anyone recently onboard who could share their experience in this regard?

If it was that bad, I would speak to Guest Relations about it. But keep in mind many people like it like that (I am not one of them, just sayin')

ScotBrit17 Posted September 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 8, 2017 Just off the Equinox, spent a lot of time in the Martini Bar and never noticed loud music at any time. Good atmosphere and fun but never heard music that I would class as loud, no problem talking to others in normal voice.

Anyone recently onboard who could share their experience in this regard? There were times last year on the TA that the music was very loud. One evening a number of people asked the bartender to turn it down & he did turn it down a little. A short time later a bar manager came by and turned the music up even louder. A guest told him that it had been turned down based on requests of those in the bar. The manager said " it doesn't matter, it's the Martini Bar If I can't hear the music down the hall it is not loud enough." About 8-10 people left. We are hoping it is better this year. TFLG Posted September 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 9, 2017 For every person thinking the music is too loud, there is at least one thinking it needs turned up. Its a no win for the crew. I would expect it to be a little loud because the ambient "noise" in that area is often very high. You get a hundred or so people crammed into a small space trying to talk with one another there's going to be a fair bit of noise. Now add in music. If you want it heard in needs to be pretty loud. If you want to converse your best bet is head to the far end of the Martini Bar where it's quieter, or get your cocktail and move to the wine bar. Remember there are other people that might want the music loud. It's a bar so they are probably going to win the volume war. If you want quiet there are plenty of other places to enjoy your cocktail.
