puli Posted September 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Next April we are arriving in FLL @ 4pm on a Sunday & cruising from POM on a Monday. Can either stay in FLL area over night and shuttle to ship on Monday or Uber to POM hotel Sat. & Uber to ship on Monday. We are traveling from the West coast so jet lag will play a negative roll on Monday morning. Does the day of the week make a significant difference in travel time? Does the day of the week make a significant difference in travel time? Are you asking if the day of the week makes a difference in travel time from FLL to POM? If so, then obviously the Monday rush hour traffic will make a difference.. Traffic will be somewhat lighter on Sunday. My choice would be to go on down to Miami on your arrival day. Then you have flexibility in when you go to POM on Monday, without worrying about traffic at all.
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Yes Monday will be busier then Sunday. If it was me and given what time you will be arriving and for you it will feel like 1:00 PM I would go ahead and get over to Miami and stay at one of the many downtown Miami Hotels. puli Posted September 3, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2017 thanks you two...my sentiments on both accounts .will book Miami hotel and sleep in on Monday.always feel better being able to actually see the port the night before sailing. will have to Uber as no shuttles pick up after 3 PM unless charging an arm and a leg. Uber is a good way to go, once you are more than one person the price difference is not much between a shuttle and UberX. And yes as the other posters stated of course, there is a huge difference in the amount of traffic on a weekend to a Monday. It could more than double travel time from FLL to Miami.
