Wonder if they will leave the ship berthed at POA ? Couldn't hurricane force winds cause the ship to slam into the pier or worst break free ?

I would bet they move any ships out to sea. For the ships that were not due into port until this weekend, they are coming in early on Thursday morning, and anyone that can get home that day can get off ship. For those that can't, they encourage them to stay on the ship. They plan to ride the storm out, out to sea, out of the hurricane's path. They are giving everyone that had to change their flights a $300pp reimbursement. Great customer service NCL!!

The NCL post says that the are moving the ships to sea. Passengers on the Escape would be allowed to stay on board for this trip until the POM opens again.

NCL post literally says out to sea away from the storm. If Irma stays on its current track, the ship will sail east. If Irma turns to the east (some models show this) then you sail west.

As far as returning to normal itineraries,,,,, Jose is coming up behind Irma on a track to the east.

I'm thinking you are right. The Navy takes the ships out to sea when a hurricane threatens our area.

Wise decision on the part of NCL and great customer service!
