Hurricane itinerary!

Someone after church today mentioned that he was supposed to be boarding a ship in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, and he didn't know what was going to be happening about his cruise. I asked him which line, and he said he thought it was Holland America! I suddenly thought it was probably Maasdam working her way over to the Pacific, so I looked at their roll call, and it seems like they will be in Florida waters on Wednesday, and expecting rough seas on the way down. Hope all goes well for them.

There is no HAL ship scheduled for FLL on Tuesday unless Maasdam's itinerary was changed. She's supposed to be in FLL on Wednesday if the port is open and clear of damage/debris that would hinder a "normal" turnaround. I certainly hope your your fellow churchgoer checks his docs and/or contacts HAL. Not a terribly good thing if you're not sure when you're boarding and on what cruise line two-three day before the event and you're still on the opposite coast. All the best to that individual!

He is a challenged young man, going with family on his first cruise. It may be that they are going to FLL on the Tuesday - not necessarily boarding! But who knows if they will even be able to go there by Tuesday.

Got it; thanks for elaborating Ann
