St. Kitt

The Habanos store has the best selection and you are sure they are all authentic. That being said the stores in port are fine as well. Limited selection. Just make sure to look for the triple cap, and keep away from boxes that look shabby. Especially those with a variety of cigars in a box.

As I have mentioned several times and many others have agreed with, you will most likely be thrilled with any of the Thenford Grey excursions. They are terrific and reasonbly priced. We did the Grand Tour of St. Kitts, were fortunate to have Thenford as our guide and loved it. Check out all his tours at www.thenfordgreytours.com

I am another one that votes for Grey's tours! Loved them last year and going with them again this year on our trip to St Kitts.

I also am a fan of the Carambola Beach Club. Very nice!

We also did a tour of the island with Clay Villa tours. Very nice. It includes a tour of the villa, which is lovely and unique, and is not available through most other tour operators.

We loved St Kitts!

Watch out for the "monkey men" at the port. They will try to get you to let a monkey sit on you and charge for a picture. .

The "monkey men" will be wearing green shirts, please note, on our cruise in May a passenger came down with fleas.

If you're looking for an island tour I highly recommend Royston Tours. We did the Island Tour with Royston a couple of years ago and had a fantastic day.

We did end up taking pictures with a monkey (but not at the port, we felt they were very aggressive there), but I have seen reports of people getting sick from them so we probably would not do this again.

Is St. Kitts safe to do on your own? I have heard about the con artists trying to force monkeys on you, but once you get away from the port area is it safe to walk around and do things on your own?

We took a taxi on our own to Cockleshell Beach. I never felt unsafe.

Does anyone know if the scenic train tour passes Fort Brimstone? Or does anyone have a route of the train? I understand some is by bus and some by train; is this a suitable tour for those with mobility issues (scooter; but can walk short distances if needed)

I second Thenford Grey. I used him in May for the Grand Tour. We had Thenford as our guide and loved it.

I took the train with the option of bus return. The other option is to return by boat. The return trip by bus passed the entrance to Brimstone, but did not stop. As far as mobility goes, the train is two levels, but the access to the upper level is by a narrow winding stair. Would not recommend the upper level for people with mobility issues. You will not see as much on the lower level, but the restroom is on the lower level as well. You will have to transfer to the bus for the return trip, so I think you would be alright.

I had a good time on the train, and it is an excellent overview of the island.

I'm on the Oasis 9/24 sailing and got the St. Kitts email change as well. Said to book new excursions on board or online via cruise planner. Problem is the itinerary is not yet updated in the cruise planner showing any excursions or the times in port. With Oasis having to travel an additional 46nm which is just over 2 hours at normal cruising speed (likely they adjust the speed for the 2 days at sea to account for the increase but RCCL knows that costs more money by burning more fuel so who knows...) so the times in port are not shown yet. Don't want to book a 3rd party tour like mentioned above until the times are locked down.

I would highly recommend Royston tours. We LOVED that tour!

On our upcoming cruise we're going with Javin, to do something different. If you're looking for something more active, Javin's tour includes hiking in the rainforest, snorkeling, climbing down the black rocks, some standard sight-seeing and beach time.)

Thenford Grey and Rose & Jim's tours hit all the same major highlights. Royston hits those, but his tours are a bit more personalized to show off some unique locations. He doesn't conduct tours on his religious holidays, so it's important to check with him in advance.

Go to Nevis. If you are lucky you may get a taxi ride from a super guy named John. Go to Turtle Time. Get a chair on the beach and enjoy the great food they have to offer. Best time ever!!!

How do you get to Nevis

Does that require your passport if doing it on your own?

The Marriott is a very nice resort and has day passes. I think we paid $35 the last time we were there. You will have use of of pool, beach, chairs and umbrellas, and they give you a 15% credit for lunch in a very nice outdoor cafe. There is also a casino there, and it's close to the port.

I am on the Harmony 9/23 to Eastern Caribbean, I am super upset, St Thomas and St John was the reason i booked this cruise, St Kitt does not have a beautiful beach like the virgin islands...... I don't know what are my options in terms of canceling, i don't see them refunding at all at the moment.

My memory is failing me right now but I can tell you that Thenford Grey took us to a beach that was just awesome. Beautiful white sand. I could go back to St. Kitts just for this beach.
