RickT Posted September 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2017 From the Celebrity FAQ page https://www.celebritycruises.com/ca/company/customer-support/help-and-faqs/pre-cruise/before-you-board The FAQ says designated areas however the only areas I have seen are outdoors, usually on the Port Side of the ship as well as the port side of the Aft Deck. Q. What is Celebrity Cruises’ Smoking Policy? A. For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships are designated as non-smoking; however, we recognize that some of our guests smoke. Therefore, to provide an onboard environment that also satisfies smokers, we have designated certain areas of the ship as "smoking areas." Generally, smoking is not permitted except in designated areas. (Contact Guest Relations for additional details). This policy includes smoking-like products such as electronic cigarettes. Smoking is not permitted inside any guest stateroom; nor on any guest veranda. If a guest is in violation of this policy, a cleaning fee of $250 USD will be applied to their SeaPass® account and the guest may be subject to further action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of this Guest Conduct Policy. Celebrity Cruises kindly asks all guests to please observe the non-smoking areas and to refrain from smoking cigarettes, pipes or cigars in any of the non-designated areas. These requests are made to provide a comfortable shipboard environment for everyone. Where permitted, cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must always be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco. Rare cruisestitch Posted September 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2017 Specifics are always spelled out once on board but just remember: never inside, never in staterooms, never on balcony.

Agreed. Celebrity strictly enforces their smoking regulations. Last year aboard Eclipse we smelled cigarette smoke coming from a cabin close to ours. We notified our cabin attendant and he knocked on the door even though the "do not disturb" tag was on the door handle. He gave them a surprisingly stern warning. They were caught smoking again later in the day. The hotel director gave them a written and verbal warning that if they continued smoking in the cabin they would be kicked off the ship at the next port. Guess what? They were caught a third time. Our cabin attendant confirmed that they were escorted off the ship. Edited September 14, 2017 by Rob the Cruiser typo

captdave Posted September 14, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 14, 2017 For a while Celebrity had the smoking area on Deck 10 Port Side (left). Right under Aqua 1, how nice. They moved the smoking area near the pool, at least as of May 2016. CaptDave

A lot of them don't want to confront paying guests.
Wine-O Posted September 14, 2017 #10 Share Posted September 14, 2017 Wow would love to know who the hotel director was. They are my hero. So is the cabin attendant. A lot of them don't want to confront paying guests. My guess is that smokers were not Americans, and they most likely removed their automatic tips. The stateroom attendant probably had no problem confronting non-paying guests.
