Cdn. Exchange Rates on Hal.

Recommended Posts

I've pasted below a table of Princess exchange rates. It makes such easy common sense it should be easy to remember.

Is there a comparable one for HAL?

Right now our dollar is actually improving against the USD.

Thanks, experts,

Ruth

"When prices on the Princess website end in .70, the exchange rate is 30%. That's what they are today.

USD Exch $CAN

$999 1.00 $ 999.00

$999 1.05 $1,048.95

$999 1.10 $1,098.90

$999 1.15 $1,148.85

$999 1.20 $1,198.80

$999 1.25 $1,248.75

$999 1.30 $1,298.70

$999 1.35 $1,348.65

$999 1.40 $1,398.60"

That's very interesting - thanks :)

I haven't seen one for HAL.

Basically I just check the U.S. and Cdn price and work out the exchange. The current rate for my HAL booking is 1.30%. FWIW. when I booked the exchange rate was higher than that.

The rates are adjusted every few months so we may see the prices come down.

For the last couple of years booking in Cdn has worked in our favour. I am happy to wait and see as the Cdn dollar may lose steam or HAL may adjust the price.

Our cruise is a long ways off and a lot can happen in that time ;)

We no longer gamble on exchange rates and book in Canadian. Our next HAL cruise is in 2019 so time is on our side.

On last winter's HAL cruise we easily got the new lower exchange rate, but it was long before final payment.

On our 2017 winter Princess cruise we're locked in at $1.30, but because we book early our dollar would have to improve considerably to improve our initial booking price.

Our Princess South America cruise this past Feb. was purchase on one day Princess sale....Canadian dollar at par.

Rates are getting a little better. Should be a bit of a bump if they increase the bank rate again.

I'm hoping so.... but not counting on it. We not going to stop buying US $s a bit at a time, despite that hope ;)
