You will cross the equator and suffer Neptune's wrath.

Going west and south, I'd recommend starboard as the sun will be on your side of the ship from sunrise til late in the day. :)

Unlike sailing from LON to SYD/AKL, the term POSH only applies if you're sailing eastbound.

The term POSH originated in the days when ships were not air-conditioned. For more comfortable passage, passengers would book "POSH" or Port outbound to Australasia, Starboard home. This allowed passengers the cooler side of the ship  on both outbound and return voyages.

Then again if you book an inside cabin you'll never have to worry about it (LOL) :D

Ciao for now!!!

Hey Janmcn -

Nancy & I booked the same cruise from San Francisco. We start a day earlier. Glad to see someone else is going. We are planning to stay over in the South Pacific and then cruise back to LA on Raddison at the end of November.

You can tell I'm in the newly retired, lots of energy phase.

Rick
