Ocean Dancer Posted September 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I want to know too. Does anyone know or can supply a link of expensive drinks or wine that are covered in the Cheers plan? What is in a $49.99 drink?
MastersLevelMama Posted September 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Would love to know too. The hubby loves his Manhattans which I am guessing are around $12-$15 but I'd love to taste a $49.99 drink. ;p
Rare Saint Greg Posted September 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Someone recently posted that they had a glass of $40 champagne at the steakhouse bar each night before dinner.
bar1068 Posted September 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Having done a few cruises since Carnival raised the max drink price to $50...with and without Cheers, you'll be hard pressed to find anything generally available for $50. Someone mentioned a champagne for around $40 they serve in the steakhouse....I've seen a cognac at the steakhouse for around $49 or something...but outside of that...not much. Ocean Dancer Posted September 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2017 We were on a snorkel excursion in Aruba last year and the bar opened as we sailed back, The bartender would make a dozen drinks at a time, very colorful concoctions. Our round was a green Iguana. It contained a shot of vodka, OJ, 2 different kinds of rum, coco loco, blue curiso, dash of pineapple juice and banana liqueur shaken with ice. OMG, they were so good. I had three and couldn't feel my feet after that. I do not remember how I got back to the ship. I know DH was as ship faced as I was. Is this something the Alchemy Bar will make for us? Our limit will be two!:D We will have the Cheers package, but does anyone know what this concoction would cost with 5 types of alcohol? And would it count as one drink? Gamecock_Cruiser Posted September 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Our last cruise, my cousin was drinking Vodka and Club soda. The bartender told her to make sure she asked for Grey Goose XV (or VX) because it was the most expensive vodka on board. It was about $20 per shot I think. But it was only available at the casino bar.

Leaving on the Magic this Saturday the 30th.... Do you know if you can order a drink @ dinner with Grey Goose VX? I know you mentioned that they have it in 3 locations, but will a bartender in the MDR actually get you GG VX if you order it? I'm also looking forward to the Alchemy bar... Sounds like fun ordering different drinks to try (Yes, I have the drink package!)

bptex Posted September 29, 2017 #19 Share Posted September 29, 2017 My luck the $40.00 glass of Champagne would come from a $30.00 bottle. The steakhouse bar on the Dream had a Rose Champagne for $20 a glass. It's over $50 a bottle at my local liquor store. They aren't making their usual profit margin on it for some reason. crzndeb Posted September 30, 2017 #22 Share Posted September 30, 2017 What is the most expensive Rum? Vicki, I'm not normally a rum drinker, but on Carnival, I would say Appleton and Gosling. I know there are different ones, so not sure most expensive. Maybe a rum connoisseur could help with that. Also, I have been on 2 ships with an Alchemy Bar. They only carry specific ingredients and tend to stick to menu drinks or drinks that can be made with those ingredients. They don't usually make a lot of different variations of blended drinks. For instance, they won't make a Long Island Iced Tea. But, as with any ship, it doesn't hurt to ask. Debbie

cdel71 Posted October 8, 2017 #24 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Just off the Magic.... (boat is still rockin')... They did not have Grey Goose VX in MDR (even though I asked for it). I simply got regular GG (not that this was a bad thing).... No issues getting it from Casino Bar, nor Alchemy bar. These rang in at $17 a glass. Was pretty easy to break even on just these alone. Damn the Alchemy bar was awesome, even better than I expected! Alexander is a master mixologist. He knows his stuff!
