Wayfairers Posted October 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2017 Considering our first Costa cruise...a TA Europe to South America. (Been cruising several years throughout the world but never on Costa) Since this is a European line and DH is allergic to cigarette smoke I am concerned. I've heard they have changed policies to have smoking only in designated areas, but is the new policy enforced? G.M.T. Posted October 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2017 Costa have tightened up their smoking policy in recent years. You cannot smoke inside the ship (including cabins and public areas9, the only exceptions to this ban is smoking is allowed on private balconies and specially desinated "cigar lounges" (not available on all ships). Smoking is allows outside, but only on specific decks and designated areas.
demoiselle Posted October 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2017 Hubby and I are very sensitive to smoke and it can drive us out of rooms. We had no problems with smoking on Costa Diadema, as it was only allowed outdoors. There were a couple venues where some lingering smoke was noticeable around the doors, but we could always find smoke-free places both inside and outside.
