Yesterday I received an email from one of the better jewelers there, saying they are up and running

Hope to see some detailed reviews of how this stop goes. It's one thing for the cruise line people and island officials to say they are ready but it's the 1st groups of tourists that I'd want to hear it from.

Thanks for the links. We were scheduled originally for St. Maarten but they have changed it to St. Croixx - December Eclipse.

OK so the ship is stopping there (if true). Big deal. What is there to get off the ship and see that is not a total mess. I don't go anywhere just to go to a jewelry store.. Good luck to the people of St. Maarten in their efforts to rebuild their country. But things just don't get rebuilt overnight.

 

In 1995 Hurricane Hugo destroyed the Mullet Bay Resort. That place was never rebuilt. So things don;t always return to the way they were.

 

If we end up going there it's going to be a day on the ship.
