Thanks for all the great info.

Does Celebrity allow smoking in the dining room of all of their ships?

As far as I am aware, Celebrity does not allow smoking in the main dining room on any of their ships. One side of the vessel is designated as the *smoking* side, and smoking is allowed in the bars on that side, and in the casino. Check the Celebrity website, it will tell you exactly where, on each vessel, that smoking is allowed.

***A NOTE ABOUT MY PREVIOUS POST RE: WAITERS*** I had an email from Daniel this mornng and he has just moved to another cruise line. :( However, the opportunity exists to meet up with him at some time in the future.

Thanks for all the tips and hints about the ship and the time ashore. We've been to Key West several times so don't plan to take a shore excursion. We may do the Trolley on our own because DH's parents will be with us and they haven't been before' date=' and I think the Truman Little White House will really be of interest to them. I enjoy shopping, sipping, and munching along Duval Street myself!

On Grand Cayman, we are thinking of doing the ship's 4 X 4 excursion, because the four of us could be in one vehicle and it wouldn't involve too much walking for them. From the description it looks like there is a snorkel/swim stop, but it wasn't clear whether they provide snorkel equipment or not. Has anyone done this excursion, and do you recall if they provided snorkel equipment?

Thanks for the tip about photo class, nmnita. I will definitely get there, if it doesn't interfere with sleeping in!

We just checked the Web for Grand Cayman weather this week---about 80 and sunny, and the water looks glorious! Hopefully the great weather will hold out for the following week when we're there.

Only two more days of work and then off to Florida![/quote']I have heard from the guy who we are doing our tour in GC with and he said the weather has been awesome the past few weeks. We leave tomorrow morning to drive to Texas. Thurs will fly from DFW to Miami for a couple of days. BTW, we used to live in Sacramento; way back when. NMnita

We're sailing Zenith in March and can't wait. We, too, are a fan of smaller ships and the way things "used to be." For all of those who truly enjoy the small ship atmosphere, the only way we're going to have a chance to keep the smaller ships is by sailing on them and encouraging others to do so as well. If they aren't keeping the small ships full, they aren't going to keep them (they may not even if they are sailing full). So be sure to let Celebrity know every chance you get that there are a group of us out here who still want to sail the smaller ships!!!!!

My friends & I just booked the 3/11(same itinerary) sailing on Zenith. Very excited & a little nervous too as I've fallen in love w/cruising & they have never been. Thanks for the timely review which addressed some of the issues I was concerned about. Meg

PAOLO!!!!!!! The Assistant Maitre'd was fabulous!!!!!! Paolo from Italy is the friendliest, most personable, most efficient (and I have to say, most yummy!) Asst. Maitre'd we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

I must agree about Paolo. He was our ass't too and Tyra was great in the shows.

Tell me how the people were dressed; it seems from other threads that everyone leans a little more to country club casual. Any feedback. I;m trying to figure out how to pack. If DH doesn't have to wear a suit, perhaps just a sport jacket no tie. Thanks, Roe

Can anyone tell me if it's worth it to book the Concierge Class? I am holding a res. for four nights in Feb. that goes to Key West and Cozumel. I am beginning to wonder if I should keep it or book RCCL. Final pymt is due Dec. 18th. I am platinum with Royal Carribean but have only sailed Celebrity once (a long time ago). Any suggestions??

We were on the Zenith sailing 11/5 with our 10yo son and 7yo daughter. They thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Although their were about 20 children in my son's age group, participation was very low, often just 2 boys, but they had a great time-scavenger hunt, etc. They often grouped my daughter's group with the younger set and she had a good time. The staff was terrific and very attentive. In Key West, our family did the "Conch Train" tour on our own, went back to the ship for a late lunch, and signed our kids into the club while my husband went back out for a Key Lime Pie tasting and a couple beers! If you are sailing during the "Spring Break" or summer timeframe, you should find more children on board. Our week was not a traditional school vacation time.

Smoking is not allowed in any of the dining rooms on any Celebrity ship. Smoking policy

As far as I know-no cruiseline allows smoking in the dinningrooms. Maybe I am wrong-but I do know the 5 that I have been did not allow it. Some have designated smoking areas and some lounges where smoking is allowed. On Disney you were only allowed to smoke in the outside areas such as the lido on one side of the pool and on your balcony if you had a balcony room.
