Cruisin' Chick Posted December 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2005 We're thinking about giving our room steward and waitstaff phone cards for a holiday present. I've never bought them before so I wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get 'em and what brand. We are going on a Hawaii cruise so we would need cards that are good for calling from the Hawaiian ports or San Pedro to their homes in international destinations (the only foreign port is a service stop in Ensenada). wrp96 Posted December 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2005 If all your ports are in the U.S., then look at Sam's or Wal-Mart for calling cards.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Keep in mind that many of the crew now have access to computers on the ships and ashore and don't use phone cards. I have also seen many of the crew with their own international cell phones.
Nitemare Posted December 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Crew have access to much cheaper phone cards than you can buy for them. A $20 bill will buy them MUCH more phone time than a $20 phone card you can buy will provide. Cash is always the best choice.
