Visas for Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Muscat (Oman)

Hope that somebody will be able to clear a confusion regarding visas.

COLOMBO. Is a Transit visa enough to go on a shore excursion which is free or they require a Tourist visa?

There is a lot of confusion regarding what type of visa you need to spend a few hours in Colombo.

MUSCAT (OMAN). What type of visa do you need to go on shore in Muscat? Does Celebrity organize this?

Any answers will be much appreciated.

On a Suez transit ,. Celebrity organised our visa for Muscat, which was for a maximum of 48 hours stay in the country. I assumed similar for most nationalities, We are UK citizens.Can not speak of requirements for Colombo.

Thank you for your message. When Celebrity organised your Visa for Muscat, did you have to pay for it?

I found that Celebrity are not very good in answering to ones emails.

I’ve cruised to Muscat twice this year. If there is a visa then it is all done seamlessly by the ship, and at no charge. You are handed a little plastic card when you disembark, which you return when you reboard.

When we visited these on a Celebrity cruise, Celebrity took care of the visas for these two countries and all the others on the trip (Singapore to Abu Dhabi), apart from the Indian visa which we had to get ourselves.
