dandee2 Posted November 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Good evening, Maybe I'm wrong but looking at the Wind Spirit this morning, anchored at Huahine (French Polynesia), there was hardly a soul on deck for the World biggest Va'a race ( 6 -man outrigger canoe) during the opening day of the Hawaiki Nui Vaa 2017. The race was held at 7h30am just in front of the ship. Did WS even knew what was going on and forgot to tell the passengers ??? Somebody on board to confirm? Saw it live in streaming at work
milepig Posted November 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2017 There are a fair number of pax lining the railing by Veranda, and bunch more on the stern deck and more on the top level. For the Spirit, that's a crowd.

dandee2 Posted November 6, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Unfortunately, I was not aboard during the event. Just followed it on the web (TNTV). There is so much cultural activities going around French Polynésia that I don't comprehend that WS do not have a calendar of event in FP to help prepare a cruise there. Even the local commentator mistakenly mentioned Wind Spirit as either Wind Song or Aranui 5. We attended Heiva 2017 by ourselves this summer. This was almost the highlight of our vacation and one of the reason we will return there.
