CountryCruiser Posted November 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I have enough AARP points to purchase some gift cards. But I don't like the idea of purchasing a card now for a cruise next year that I could end up cancelling. If I do cancel it, I would have money invested in gift cards that I can't get back until I book another cruise. Besides booking another cruise, does anybody have any ideas on how to get the gift card now but be able to get a refund of the amount later in case of cancelation? You buy it, you keep it.

Once you buy it, you cannot get a refund. If you cancel, it will be returned as another gift card. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Lots of creative people on here. Like cashing out in the casino instead of using an ATM. I will eventually get them. I just don’t like the risk of doing it this far ahead. cmichael1279 Posted November 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Definitely just wait - as far as I know, they are always available now, with e-gift cards. Every time I logged in recently, they were available. Bonus with the e-gift cards, there's no shipping and they'll arrive in your email within a few minutes. cmptrwiz Posted November 7, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2017 You could always sell them to a friend or maybe someone on CC. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Ziggy7 Posted November 7, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Family or good friend who is cruising could buy them from you or take them to the ship and cash them out at the casino for you.

Didn’t know they were pretty much always available now. I will wait until closer to sail date. Sent from my iPad using Forums
