golfntob Posted November 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Hi, I'm considering the Verandah deck (8) in the middle of the ship. This is under the Lido deck and looks like it's under the pool. This is probably a bad location?
dmdiver Posted November 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2017 I won't do anything under Lido except a forward cabin, since those are under other cabins. I've heard that the noise of scraping chairs starts up early in the mornings.
kublaieod Posted November 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Recently off the Vista and was right underneath Lido, specifically the pool area. You can hear when they are clearing chairs in the middle of the night and then put them back before morning but honestly didn't affect my sleep at all. caribsun Posted November 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Noise also from the kitchen area of the buffet.
originalgeek Posted November 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2017 We were on Valor last December a little further back in room 8400 (give or take a cabin or two - I forget exactly) and heard tromping through the buffet area all night. NOT recommended for light sleepers. I've never been under a pool area so couldn't say if it would be better but my next cruise I made sure there were cabins above and below me. easyboy Posted November 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 16, 2017 I agree that cabins with the least disturbance are those with cabin or cabin decks above and below. We always refer to deck plans as guide. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
bury me at sea Posted November 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2017 I have had aft extended balconies directly under the Lido deck on the Magic and a mid-ship balcony on the Breeze, directly across from mid ship elevators. Although I have read of complaints regarding noise, I haven't experienced it. I thoroughly enjoyed both locations.

GMRPHRN Posted November 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 17, 2017 I've stayed under the Lido restaurant twice. I think it really depends on the person (or maybe the ship). I loved the location and didn't have any problem with noise.

Although I have read of complaints regarding noise, I haven't experienced it. I thoroughly enjoyed both locations. I was on the Magic on Verandah at the very back of the ship (one of the corner balconies). This put our cabin right under the aft pool/bar and I didn't hear a thing. Admittedly at the time this was an adult only pool so not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. This February I'm going to be in an interior cabin on Verandah deck on the Miracle. Our cabin will be directly below the Serenity pool area so hopefully I won't have a problem. The location is just so convenient.

Anyislandwilldo Posted November 17, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 17, 2017 I stayed under the lido deck once. On an Alaskan cruise. Never for a caribbean cruise.
