barric Posted November 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Before our last sailing on Jade in Oct, we were prompted to bid for cabin upgrades, which we did. (no luck). So far I have not received such an NCL notification for Gem, March 2018. Should I expect this to come? We'd love some opinions.
MikeBTN Posted November 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Maybe. Bidding starts 80 days from sailing. Not everyone gets the opportunity to bid. Not everyone gets the email (I didn't) but when you log on to your MyNLC account and select the sailing, you'll see a "Let's Get You Upgraded" notice that will take you to the bidding web page. In any event, enjoy your cruise.
barric Posted November 17, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 17, 2017 We are more than 80 days out, so thanks a bunch for the good advice.
Bitterman Posted November 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2017 We were on the Gem in June for a Canada/ New England cruise. We had two balcony rooms and neither of us got the upgrade invite, either on the website or in an email. Oh well, lol Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
garycarla Posted November 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2017 We are more than 80 days out, so thanks a bunch for the good advice. You must be on a different calendar system than the rest of us. Nov to March?
deliver42 Posted November 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2017 If you are booked with a TA, you may not get the opportunity, because some TA's opted out of the program.

Rare mking8288 Posted November 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 25, 2017 And, you check your email's spam/junk mail folder(s) so some servers filtered and group incoming emails & play "hide-n-seek" ... more than 1 or 2 CC'er found their email "Invites" to bid, in addition to logging into MyNCL dot com to check for yourself. We had gotten them at 80 days but on an earlier 2017 sailing, got the invites at 50 something days. Last minute bookings with inventory of unsold cabins, possible to get the "open your wallet again & input your credit card" "request" less than 24 hours after full payment (since it's beyond deadline for cancellation) ... should be interesting with the new 120 days deadline for booking & payment. The ship will most likely be sold out.
