Free cruises by using the casino

So I have briefly talked to a number of casino guests who get loads of free cruises comped by the casino. Obviously they have to play in there, but does anyone know how the plays are tracked? I assume its biased on the amount of play not the amount you win or loose?

Any ideas and tips?

Correct. It is based on size of bet X how long you play. Don't know if there is an exact formula, but do know the pit boss and casino host have input as to who gets them. They are known as Bounce Back offers and only so many of them are handed out per cruise.

Slot play accumulates points and with BJ and table games, points are rated differently, but still has to deal with how long you play, not necessarily how much you lose.

I only play the slots as table games bore me. They track you by how much you put in the machines. They don't care how much you win because the odds table in the machine assures the house coming out ahead. I found that if I bet 2 to 5K I would get a deeply discounted short cruise of $100 ea for an inside, or $150 ea for an ocean view plus grats, port fees, and taxes. These offers coded OHM usually must be booked quickly, and are for voyages up to a few months out. Most desirable cabins are gone and most available cabins are on lower decks. There are also the Premier Cruises which are a better choice. These are coded PC followed by a number indicating your level of play. I am PC3, my wife is PC9. These cruises give a fairly large discount and are for 7 day cruises that are not selling as well as others. Expect to save $300 to $500 on the price of the cruise. They give a welcome party, free drinks while playing, small gifts, spa discounts, cookies, wine, free steaks, and cash drawings. They also include priority boarding. Then there is also cash from the casino. They have given us $800 on Premier Cruises. I know they expect you to gamble with it, but I put mine in my "red pocket" and it leaves the ship with me. I also put jackpots over $100 in the red pocket The casino keeps a list of people who haven taken 5K or more off the ship. I am hoping to make that list.

Yes it's true comps are based on the amount of play and length the play not on your win loss statement. Onslaught 1. equals $2.50 of play, I believe on electronic poker it is $5 worth of pay for one point, and on table play the formula use varies on the game but for the most part a consistent bet of $20- $25 per hand or spin for 2 to 3 hours a day will get you rated high enough to start receiving comps.

Different length cruises have also have different levels that you have to reach to get the various comps, like the drinks on us card , free bottle of wine, or strawberries in your cabin. But other comp, like a free cruise (tax & port charge only) are determined solely on the percentages of players where only the top 15 to 20% will receive the better give aways.

DH and I just returned from a free cruise on the Paradise. Just had to pay for taxes and Port charges of $174. It was free for an inside cabin which we normally do not take, but it worked out okay for 5 days. I received a bounce back offer on the last night from the Player's Club and we are sailing on a 7-day Miracle in March in an interior with a French Door so it won't seem claustrophobic. Not free, but very very cheap for 7 days. I play the slots and earn about 4000-6000 points per cruise, depending upon the length of the cruise. DH plays table games and always gives his card to the pit boss for tracking. However, he has never received a free cruise or a bounce back offer and he spends much more than I do. Not sure why he doesn't receive those offers, Oh well, glad that I do! I received a bottle of wine on the Paradise. We are Latitudes, so receive other treats in the cabin too.

Additionally.....The casino draws for a free cruise on last night of cruise. Everyone who has accumulated atleast 100 points is eligible to win. You get 1 entry for each 100 points you accumulate. It supposedly is a random draw. Just returned from the Vista and they did the drawing on last night around midnight. Had to draw a 3rd name to give away the cruise (you had to be in attendance to win). Pretty cool they kept drawing to find a winner. Been on cruises, if the 1st called name wasn't there....that was it...no further drawings
