Just watched the refit video again and I see what you mean - the aft additions related to deck 6 and above. Were the Q6's just refurbished with carpets and furnishings as all the suites? Glenndale Posted May 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2018 Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone has photos of the interiors and balconies of any of these Q6 cabins on decks 4 and 5? Any comments on pros & cons would be helpful too :)
Lynnewob Posted May 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2018 (edited) Be careful on the Q6's on the QV now. They used to have huge open balconies on decks 4 and 5 but no longer. The refit on deck 6 to the Q1s has caused those on deck 5 to have a large overhang now. Those on deck 4 are not as affected. We have enjoyed some of the Q5s and loved the corner deck on them but we liked this suite enough to have booked it for a Baltic trip in 2019. Pro: Quiet location (only lost souls pass your doorway!) Lots of space Large balcony Con: A long walk to the elevators to the Grills IMG_0197-fullframe by IMG_0191-fullframe by IMG_0195-fullframe by
Glenndale Posted May 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Thanks so much for posting these photos.:) The layout is very similar (from memory) to other QG cabins on the side of the ship, but with a more spectacular view. The walk to the midships lift isn't a problem, the extra exercise will be welcome. Do you have any balcony pictures?
FloatSome & JetSome Posted May 4, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Thanks so much for posting these photos.:) The layout is very similar (from memory) to other QG cabins on the side of the ship, but with a more spectacular view. The walk to the midships lift isn't a problem, the extra exercise will be welcome. Do you have any balcony pictures? We have many photos from the balcony but none of the balcony itself. Prior to the refit there were chairs and a table to accommodate a meal but these have been removed. There are two lounger type chairs now along with a storage box for the cushions. In any case, there is space enough to host at least a dozen guest for a stand-up cocktail event. It's a wonderful spot on the ship!
Pear Carr Posted August 3, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 3, 2018 Thanks for the great pics and positive comments. We have just booked 4190 for a Baltic Cruise next year but had read some very negative reviews with regard to very disturbing vibrations in the next door cabin 4188 (although posted some years ago). I can only assume you had no problems with this regard given that you have booked the same cabin for your future cruise.
FloatSome & JetSome Posted August 3, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 3, 2018 We had 4188 for two weeks back in 2015 (prior to the refit) and have no recollection of disturbing vibrations...not sure what that may have been about. We expect that you will enjoy the peace and privacy!
Host Hattie Posted August 3, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 3, 2018 We were in 4191 before the refit and I don't remember any problems with vibration. I suppose her new aft section might have changed things.
