Currently onboard Ovation Of The Seas and the Captain announced 2 hours back that we have a serious medical emergency.

 

We have diverted to Albany, Australia for a helievacuation and are currently preparing for the evacuation to begin.

Evacuation has been completed via Helicopter from the Bow and we are now leaving Albany, and resuming our course to Adelaide.

Very unfortunate when these things happen and our thoughts go out to those involved hoping for the best. But medical situations occur everyday, everywhere, including during vacations and on board cruise ships. Just more difficult and unfortunate for all involved when it occurs on board. Hope all turns out well.

We were on the Harmony last week, and there was a "Code Alpha" announcement midday on Day 2. We never found out specific details, but folks were talking about it the rest of the afternoon. Hope those folks, but the person(s) in this case, are all right.

Padding the story. Plus Fremantle/Western Australia gets so few ships its an event every time something Voyager class or larger shows up.

Captain Henrik has provided an update - the crew member had surgery, all went well and he is now recovering well in the local hospital.
