Need To Know When

Your question isn't very clear, but if there are still cabins available you can book up to a couple of days before the cruise leaves. If there isn't enough time to mail out tickets they do it electronically... If they've already booked but just haven't yet received their documents then call your TA if you don't get them in another week or so. They typically come anywhere from 2-6 weeks before your cruise.

(typing in all caps is YELLING, and it's hard to read ;) )

When you book so late, you're going to run into a few problems. One is that most cruise ships are sailing full, so your friends might have problems finding an available cabin. The other problem they could find is getting decent prices for airfare, if they can even find a flight. If you cruise out of Miami or Ft Lauderdale, flights are pretty well booked up for January/Feb/March.

As for the cut off date, cruise lines must have their passenger lists submitted to Homeland Security 72 hours before sailing.

Kitty9, that's incorrect.

Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland

Security. Sec. 231.1 Paragraph (b):

For passenger and crewmember manifests, one of the following three alternative rules will beapplied, depending on the length of the voyage: (i) At least 96 hours before entering the port or place of destination, for voyages of 96 hours or more; (ii) at least 24 hours before entering the port or place of destination, for voyages of less than 96 hours but not less than 24hours; or (iii) prior to departing the port or place of departure, forvoyages of less than 24 hours.

Anna, your post is a bit confusing. However.......

If you mean that your friends would like to purchase a cruise, and have not done so, yes there is still time - IF there is anything available. They need to contact either the booking agent you used, or contact one themselves, or call Carnival directly at the toll free number - to see if they can even book a cruise for 1/11.

If they CAN book the cruise, be sure and give them YOUR booking number, so their cruise and yours will be "linked" in the system....assuring that you'll both have the same dining setup.

You need to get this checked into ASAP. Good luck.

The quickest way would be to go to the court house in the county of birth and pick it up that day. Otherwise, I would call the county's court house and see what their quickest procedure would be. Sometimes just a phonecall will get it done. So much depends on how busy they are.

Good luck!
