grampsagain Posted December 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2017 Carnival, please find a different way to identify the luggage for FTTF, and Priority guest when handing them of to the Porters. They place this tape around the luggage handles and across our plastic Tag Holders and if just doesn't come off real easy. The tags already state Priority why do they even use this? Anyone else have an issue with this, I've had this happen at 3 different Embarkation Ports and they use the exact same tape. Someone mentioned to me that this is done by the Port itself but Carnival must have approved it and probably supplies it! Got to be a better way!! StolidCruiser Posted December 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2017 I’ve not had the same experience as you. I have always been able to remove the sticker/tape with no residue left behind. Which three ports have you experienced this? I’ve been through at least a half dozen without issue. I would like to know which ports in which I should pay closer attention. grampsagain Posted December 17, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted December 17, 2017 This happened to us in New Orleans, Long Beach, and Seattle. Cruising from Port Canaveral in February, will see how this is handled there!
Rudyard Posted December 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2017 They didn't use the tape on our last cruise out of Galveston a couple of weeks ago. FTTF was on our luggage tags and we had our bags waiting for us by the time we finished lunch even without the extra tape.

RWolver672 Posted December 18, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Had the same problems in New Orleans & Miami. Nothing seems to get the goo off of the luggage tag holders. Try either WD-40 or GooGone. Both remove glue residue.
Rare crewsweeper Posted December 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Try either WD-40 or GooGone. Both remove glue residue. Like cruisers want to lug an aerosol can of WD-40 or choke on the fumes from Goo B Gone

georgiacruizer Posted December 18, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Is this something new that the porters have begun doing? We've had just 2 cruises with Priority boarding (out of NY and Ft. Lauderdale) and didn't see the porters using tape of any kind.
dd likes to cruise Posted December 19, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Like cruisers want to lug an aerosol can of WD-40 or choke on the fumes from Goo B Gone  I would wait til I get home. Use Goo Gone all the time and haven't encountered any fumes. Mine is not a spray.
grampsagain Posted December 19, 2017 Author #13 Share Posted December 19, 2017 It's not new for New Orleans, they've been using this for over a year now. Also for our cruise in Long Beach about 18 months ago.
Donh44 Posted December 20, 2017 #14 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Had the same problems in New Orleans & Miami. Nothing seems to get the goo off of the luggage tag holders. Might be worth considering taking some alcohol swabs with you when you travel. That should get the "goo/sticky" off when you get to the cabin. I just now put that on my little list of incidentals to take.
