We will always be loyal to royal, but what is happening????

Starting in 2001 we cruised with Celebrity ( X ) for our first series of cruises. Then when we tried Royal Caribbean ( RC ) we did notice a difference, but as the years and cruises built up we became Elite on ( X ) and also, not from reciprocation, earned Diamond on ( RC ).

To us the two have become almost the same other than the better Celebrity's Captains Club benefits and Royal's water slides and things like rock climbing and such.

We tried NCL once and that was the last time, so we will continue with RCCL's on either ( X ) or ( RC ) . Due to our now disgust with all things associated with flying to ports we will have to settle with ( RC ) .

If ( X ) goes back to leaving from the Northeast for anything other than short 7 days cruises to Bermuda (done that MANY times) we will go with them, and find no problem finding what we get on ( X ) on the ( RC ) ships as we just don't need to climb any walls, and can easily avoid venues like that. LOL

You can get a different experience in the spa from ship to ship. It is my understanding that the spas are a separate entity from rci and merely operate there on the ship. So it has its own separate leadership, offerings, policies, goals, etc. it makes sense from a business standpoint to separate them, because it compartmentalizes and shifts liability. Noticed the separate entity filing in the release form we filled out on our last cruise on the enchantment.

What are the better benefits in Captain's Club?

I believe we got a free bag of wash and fold laundry on Celebrity with our Diamond to Elite status match. That's the one that stands out. Thought it was a nice perk.
