We are looking for suggestions regarding beachfront restaurants and beach bars, We are not looking for an AI option or the big, popular tourist spots. We don't mind taking taxi's as we have been to Cozumel many times. Would like to find smaller restaurants that have great food, cold beer and preferably, tables on the beach.

Have you looked at the Money Bar? No beach, but good snorkeling from the shore plus great facilities and good food, drinks and service.

 

Otherwise I would head to downtown - you'll find good food, but probably not the beachfront view you want.

Suggest looking at Palancar, maybe Playa Azul, or if you are into really basic, Alberto’s- although tends to be better for dinner and sunset if you have a late stop.

 

We also like Punta Morena on east side, away from main restaurant but care with sea swimming and be sure to arrange return transportation.

 

Check out photos and reviews on TripAdvisor. Otherwise as John says lots of good local restaurants in San Miguel but not many with sea view.
