You don’t have to pay for the cellular at sea voice call rates. You just press a button and chat back and forth.

You would not pay anything with WiFi calling - not using cell service. I suppose the instant connection is desirable.

I was curious about this also. Our rooms are not next to each other like they have always been on other cruise lines since RCL doesn’t have rooms for 4 & 3 next to each other. My parents and oldest son is across and down the hall so not as easy to keep in touch with. Usually our rooms or balconies are attached. I wish the was a texting app. Such a huge ship.

If you used to communicate when your rooms were next to each other, then you communicated by voice. Just call them on the cabin phones.

We go over plans at dinner and in the morning and we leave messages on cabin phones. They also usually know where to find us by looking at the schedule.

For our last cruise we got the internet package for 2 devices. We used whats app and worked great for us. we could keep intouch all day. Will probably do that for our next cruise also.
