You can USUALLY board around 11 - 11:30 for most 5 p.m. departures.

Marion, the boarding times will vary by cruise line. I have cruised on many cruise lines but not Royal Caribbean. Let me suggest that you post your question on the Royal Caribbean board and I'm sure that you will get an answer to this question. I would indicate what port you a boarding from as that is sometimes a factor as well.
