Torresmom83 Posted January 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Hi! We are going on our first ever cruise with our two girls. They are 4 and 1. My husband would really like to snorkel but we would love some help on where the best snorkeling place would be and if they allow small children. If not, my hubby will just go on his own, but if there’s a place we could go together, I’d love to hear of it! :)

crzycick Posted January 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2018 We have this for our almost 5 year old to use at Chankanaab in Cozumel and West Bay in Roatan. We cruise in 2 weeks so I don’t know how well it will work yet.

zqvol Posted January 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2018 The easiest snorkeling from OP's list will be on the west end of Roatan. No current, shallow water, almost no waves. That scenario doesn't happen on Cozumel or at a Belize stop.

crzycick Posted January 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Make sure to use a flotation device on the kid just in case he falls off the raft Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk We’re bringing his life jacket but thanks for the reminder :). He only recently started swim lessons so he always has a life jacket on even in the shallow kiddy end of the pool.
Mistizoom Posted January 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Tabanya Beach in Roatan (ship excursion) has good and easy snorkeling from the shore. I second Chankanaab in Cozumel. It was a little deeper but not too bad and there was lots of other things to do in the park as well.
Claymore2 Posted January 21, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Snorkeling in Cozumel is not the best in the Caribbean. The reefs tend to be farther out and currents can be problem out on the reefs. I am not familiar with the snorkeling in Belize. Roatan is probably the best bet. idahospud Posted January 24, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Roatan for sure. Belize requires a snorkel boat and Cozumel takes a boat or a long swim from shore.
