KirkMomof3 Posted January 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Was wondering if my kids will be able to use the pool when we get on board Carnival. We have an 11:00 check-in. When we went on our last cruise with Disney, that was one of the perks of an early boarding. Pack the swimsuit and use the pool before it gets crazy crowded. But if I remember correctly, Carnival does not allow this. Can anyone give me recent information on this? Thanks!!
firemanbobswife Posted January 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2018 If the pools are open they can most certainly use them. Have them wear them under their clothes if your cabin won’t be ready. There are bathrooms for them to change on lido too.
runner15km Posted January 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Every Carnival cruise that I have been on at least one pool is available when you arrive. Sometimes a pool will be closed for service.
Schoifmom Posted January 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2018 You will not be able to go to your room to change, but pack a swimsuit in your carry-on or wear it under clothes. There are plenty of "public" restroom on board for changing. The pool will be open (unless it is being serviced).
Cruiseman38 Posted January 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Just so you know, you may have a check in at 11 a.m. but this is not your boarding time. Boarding time may be later.
2prettygirls Posted January 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Yes the pools should be available. We too have sailed Disney and found that both Carnival and Disney offer this perk. Sometimes the slides are open when you board but it all depends on maintenance and what time you board. On our last Carnival cruise, our kids swam shortly after boarding. Elvis1001 Posted January 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2018 I have been among the first to board my last several cruises. The pools/hot tubs were not open when I boarded, but were open by the time I had finished an early lunch (unless the pool was being cleaned or fixed). klfrodo Posted January 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Enjoy the pools when you board the ship. Unless not potty trained
CajunCruiseDreamer Posted January 12, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2018 It will depend on what time you board. It has been my experience that the pools are not open when I first board, but about 1 or so they are open

RWolver672 Posted January 13, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 13, 2018 It also depends on the weather. The pools use sea water so if it's in the fall or early spring, more than likely they might not be open if you are leaving from some other place than the south.
