Bernardo62 Posted January 26, 2018 #51 Share Posted January 26, 2018 Yea it has some great perks..... So if 1 person in the cabin get it do everyone else get the same perks? I used my own advice and checked Carnival FAQ...... for some reason I felt helpless as do others!!!

Umbrae Noctem Posted January 26, 2018 #55 Share Posted January 26, 2018 Umbrae, Carnival Quest is an R (and even X) rated scavenger hunt/activities event where teams complete a quest to earn points. It is lively, comical, and quite often WILD. It's been at 10:45 PM on Wednesday during our last 3 cruises. Are you expected to participate, or can you be a spectator? bubba777 Posted January 27, 2018 Author #56 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Ok, going to start the "formal" review. I still need someone to help me with the posting pictures. So, please, help me. Ok, onward. We check out of our hotel and arrive at the port at 10am. We unloaded the car and parked in the garage. We are super excited, as this is the largest ship we've sailed on so far. We arrived in the terminal and was in line to go through security, and we hear the announcent, "Ok, now Faster To The Fun, It's time to board." This was 10:30am. On our cruise on the Paradise, the wedding parties were not called till after 11am. Oh well, we went through security with no problems. We had purchased FTTF two days before our sailing. We got the the priority line and they did not have our cabin number listed. We got the the desk to get our sail and sign cards. The lady took our boarding passes and crossed off the FTTF logo. I asked her why she did that, and she said "our website obviously made a mistake." I asked her if they would refund my money and showed her my receipt. She said, "You didn't pay for it." I said "Yes I did." And pointed to the receipt. At that point she put a FTTF sticker on the back of my card. We are on our way now, got on the ship and was sitting down with lunch on the lido by 11:30am. We ate at the lido buffet, they were carving Roast Beef and it was good. We then walked upstairs to Cucina and split a plate of fettuccine alfredo. It was delicious. We walked around a bit and headed to our room to unpack. Our muster station was A3, the main show lounge. DR. E made the muster fun with his different accents. We made our way to deck 11 for sail away. We did not eat any meals in the MDR, instead ate at the LIDO buffet and those venues around Lido. It was nice and relaxing just sitting with our feet up watching the ocean go by. We attended the welcome aboard show then headed to bed. Let me comment on room service. Every night I would order 2 bags of cookies 4 cartons of milk and a plate of potato chips. That order was never correct. Each night was an adventure in what we'd receive. Sometimes I received 4 bags of cookies, 4 milks and 4 plates of chips. I know Carnival recently started charging for room service after 10 pm. I believe they stated it was because of food waste. I really think they need to look within because our order was never filled exactly the way I ordered it. Sea day and Cozumel day is in my next installment.. bubba777 Posted January 27, 2018 Author #57 Share Posted January 27, 2018 We are going with another couple on the Magic in the beginning of February (Western Caribbean 7day) and I am wondering if they have shows every day and what do you mean by they are either 7:30 & 9:30 or 8:15 & 10:15. Is that not 4 times. I am confused pardon my ignorance. What are the shows? Thanks There is productions each day in the main show lounge. The playlist productions for this cruise were: 88 Keys, Country Road, America Rocks and Flick. The other production shows were the Welcome Aboard Show, Hasbro the Game Show, Lip Sync Battle and the Love and Marriage show. The Playlist Production shows were performed either at 7:30 & 9:30 pm OR 8:15 & 10:15 pm. They performed each show twice. Example, Country Road was performed on Tuesday evening at 7:30 and at 9:30 pm. If you missed one of those show times, then you missed that production. The Hasbro the Game Show was only performed on Monday at 7:30 pm. I hope you have a fantastic cruise.

bubba777 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #60 Share Posted January 28, 2018 We got up to our first sea day. Skies clear and it was starting to warm up. I don't remember if I told you or not, but it was 11 degrees when we left Tennessee for the cruise. It was 48 degrees when we got to the port. It was cold. But, as we headed south, it was warming up. I actually got out some shorts to wear! We went and got omelettes. Ham, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese and Tomato. Roasted potatoes on the side, and a banana. Yummy. We got a great spot on deck 11. Those big, comfy chairs with the yellow coushins and the ottoman overlooking LIDO deck. That's where we spent most of the day. We watched the line dance lessons, the Lip Sync Battle tryouts and just napped. One thing I noticed about Dr. E was how much he was visible on this cruise. He hosted most of the events and you can tell how much he enjoys his job and people. We walked around some in the afternoon, watched some basketball at the sports court. Had dinner in the LIDO buffed. They were carving ham and had all the fixins. It was a great meal. After dinner we went to Punchliner and saw Happy Cole and Jaylen in the family friendly comedy show. They were both hilarious. I never laughed so hard. We also watched some Karoke in the Ocean Plaza. It was entertaining as well. The Playlist show that evening was 88 Keys. We didn't attend that performance. Monday was Cozumel day! Cozumel was one port we had visited on our Paradise cruise in 2016 and we really liked it. We were in port with the Triumph and the Freedom. We didn't have any excursions booked, so just walked around the port area and looked in the stores. We watched a Mariachi band, it was a great day. On the Paradise cruise, I saw a video of some ukelele's and I wanted to get one, but could not find any. This time, though, i found one. I was happy. We spent the rest of the day relaxing on deck 11. This was the night for the College Football Championship game. I love football. But, I just can't stand Alabama. We didn't watch the game. We went to Hasbro the Game show instead. It was fun. We went back to the comedy club again, to the family friendly shows. Again, I never laughed so hard. Tuesday was Belize. I was looking forward to this stop, even though Dr. E referred to Belize as "the hood." Now I see why. We got pretty close to the mainland, only about 5 miles out. It was a short 15 minute tender ride. We got a note in our cabin to stop by the dining room between 8 and 10:30am to be escorted to the tender, part of the FTTF benefits. We got our own private elevator (complete with someone to push the buttons), and then was led past a very long line, and right onto the tender. The port area was nice, but we both agree we will not get off the boat there again. Every 5 feet, someone would offer to drive us around town. We politely kept saying "no." Even in the stores, someone would follow us and watch our every move. At one point, we had two police officers following us. I don't know what they thought we were going to do. It made us uncomfortable, so we just headed back to the Magic. The ship was pretty deserted, so I changed into my swim attire. By this point, it was very hot. Like upper 80's hot. No matter though, because it had only been above 32 degrees 1 day since Christmas. Dad and I were finally thawing out. I rode the water slides and they were loads of fun. Unfortunatley, I dropped my FitBit somewhere, and never found it again. We spent time napping on deck 11. We then had lunch and played Mini Golf, pool and bean bag toss. It's great doing those things when the ship is empty. We napped more on deck 11 and then had dinner at LIDO. Tonight, they were carving some kind of Veal. It was yummy. We watchd the Playlist show Country Road. It was good, I enjoyed it. One thing I noticed is many times they don't "sing." There is a difference between singing and shouting into the microphone. After the show we watched the string trio in the Atrium. They were great. I will write about the next two stops, and debarkation, and my thoughts on the cruise later today or tomorrow. Moonlighting Posted February 14, 2018 #61 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I think there's an adults show called Carnival Quest. Do you happen to remember seeing or hearing about it? Happen to recall any theme nights? Blount county? Quest is so funny -finally went on my last cruise. It's a game show where the audience has to bring stuff to stage. by the end people are in their underwear that participate and (usually drunk)

You made the right choice eating on the Lido. WE ate almost every day in the main dining room for dinner. We kept hoping the food would improve. It never did. Food was not good. Almost always cold. Our wait staff was generally very good. I suspect the food on the Lido would have been hotter. We loved the ship, but the dining room food was generally awful.
